I'm surprised, I though they would stick to their guns, possibly laughing maniacally all the while.
Perhaps this is a time to point out to engadget that since quite a long time now CSS has supported enabling people to select from more than one style, instructions on many HTML/CSS tutorial sites, and then there will be a menu option in the browser under view to select which you want. And many sites in fact have buttons to switch between styles, point being that you can do both, user-friendly. That way the staff and joystiq people can have their serif ;D
It's actually pretty sad how much stuff they create for HTML/CSS and test and tweak and W3C approve and then nobody uses it because when they were taught HTML it was still 1.0 and they are too stubborn to update, and they use software that is simplistic with only basic support and simple templates.
Who says this has to face the parent? I could see compressing my infant's Baby Einstein DVDs to h264 with Handbrake and facing it toward him. Not all baby's like riding in a stroller, especially for extended periods. Sometimes some visual / auditory stimulation calms them down.
In my experience right now about 1 out of 2 people push their strollers on the street and only then look if there's traffic approaching. And that's people that aren't on the phone, I think there's some misunderstanding here anyway, the cradle is to hold the kid's phone, which is handy since the kid can call the paramedics that way too. Obviously any 1yo would be completely ruining his social standing and future when he isn't seen with an iphone or blackberry.
There will probably be 100 of these in New York in year, love to see the news stories: "Mother reading Engadget on Iphone while toddler gets hit by a bus. Story at 11."
Seems like everyone is a bit excited. It looks like a cellphone holder for a stroller, something i could use as a dad. I wonder if you would all consider a cup holder on a stroller a risk to the baby since a parent could hypothetically spill hot coffee on the baby?
@ERcuse Yes, because texting takes just as little attention as drinking a cup of coffee, and the hood of the stroller blocks spilled hot liquid just as effectively as blocking an on-coming car... /sarcasm
@lanlanb I wouldn't mount that monstrosity on my handlebars for two reasons: 1) It's a bulky POS that will probably vibrate loose and/or damage my carbon bars or mess up the finish on my stem, and 2) adjustable mounts are just asking for troble - a fitted mount designed for a specific device will be more adept at protecting said device.
Now that we've thrown 'em off the trail, use the form below to get in touch with the people at Engadget. Please fill in all of the required fields because they're required.
how did SNL beat you to this?
@kojo87
I'm on a boat!
@SamTime I threw mine on the ground :)

@sky2earth
Looks like it, also looks like no more expand to see replies.

Now people who value their iPhones more than their children don't have to make those pesky compromises
Watch your child? There's an app for that.
This would prevent kidnapping, kidnappers would rush to take the kid, see the iphone, say "to hell with the kid, I'm taking that iphone!"

Incoming Traffic accidents!
Maybe parents will see their kids with peripheral vision now!
Really? You need to see your phone that much?
all i can think of is the picture of that lady pushing her stroller while on a segway.
i cant stand you americans.
@vlad the inhaler
I promise you we aren't all that stupid.
Just most of us.
Some aren't stupid at all, and those are the ones Vlad needs to be careful of.
@vlad the inhaler
What do you inhale, you probably European fool?
@collindow
Jews
I can't wait until some fool walks into traffic with their little snowflake while texting on one of these. Darwin FTW

Looks like it makes texting while driving easier.
@chris92 So true, just strap that thing to the steering wheel instead.
Personally...
I'd prefer that people pay more attention to their children during these times and less worrying about sending a text/email on some smartphone.
There will probably be 100 of these in New York in year, love to see the news stories: "Mother reading Engadget on Iphone while toddler gets hit by a bus. Story at 11."
@Apeman
Moms don't read Engadget...
@bill cant fart
My mother does...... ok maybe my family isn't normal.....
talk about obession. i wonder if the first one on the left is the one they stroller goes toward the train rail cuz the mother was texting lol
latest stroller jaywalking accident has no mother around to speak of
So now parents can crash while driving a stroller :IO

gonna go tae this link
www.1000ebay.info
so you put your kids in day care, pick them up, just to ignore them again with crap like this.. wow. lets promote bad parenting skills early.
and if they decide they want to see the baby, they can simply launch the camera
So it has to be a smartphone for it to work?
/sarcasm
I could see this being used by cyclist. But ya, talk about accident prone if you're not careful.

I see this being attached to my steering wheel in the near future, lol
is this for real ?
I can't come up with the words to describe how utterly senseless and irresponsible this invention is, unbelievable is an understatement!
@flanders
Having 2 hands free is good for the kid, and it also saves the hundreds of millions of phones women lose every year.
And apart from that scientists and mythbusters and astronauts can use it too for something I'm sure, and cyclist in the LHC tunnels!
There's a nice easy way of getting your phone stolen.
