Even though Motorola's only officially announced a small handful of devices that run Android so far, this much is clear -- the company was dead serious about
going all-in on the platform because we're seeing new leaked hardware practically every time we look. This time around, it's a clearer view of the
Zeppelin, which turns out to be coming to market on China Telecom as the XT800. It looks like it could be a sharp-looking handset, borrowing design elements of the
Instinct HD and featuring both GSM and CDMA radios for compliance with Telecom's up-and-coming 3G network. What makes this juicier, though, is the fact that
QQ.com alternately identifies the Zeppelin as the Titanium, a device
we'd just seen in the FCC with EV-DO Rev. A last week. That leads us to believe we could see this bad boy on Sprint or Verizon in the near future -- and with an HDMI output in this thing, 2010 is shaping up to be a great year for high-end Android gear.

I hope us early Droid adopters wont be screwed into inferiority within a month or two of its release
@yulebellow
Its tech so yes we will get screwed. I find its best to do your research, choose something and not look back. The droid is a "current gen" phone so even in 2 years when we can upgrade, it should run just fine. As for the Hero, and some of those ARM 9 phones, probably not so much.
@yulebellow
Don't worry about it. Motorola will be out of business shortly, so all Motorola device owners will be screwed equally.
@yulebellow
Is this your first jump into anything tech? Anything you buy will have a better version is just a couple months of less.
when and how much?
Exciting year indeed for Android. Personally I think I'm going to sit and wait to see if Verizon gets a HTC w/snapdragon AND sense.
Nice to see lots of viable options in the market.
Well of course Motorola was all in on Android; they said they'd be doing so, nearly one year ago. And it makes a hell of a lot more sense to be all in on Android than to develop phones for different platforms, when you're trying to save money...something that Palm doesn't seem to care about.
here's to 2010 being a great year for android coinciding with my "new every 2" from Verizon.
now we just need to FCC to get text messaging costs back under control and we'll all be set.
better announce something SOON SPRINT.. times running out
Will someone who knows more that me please tell me if I should stay with AT&T? Which network will have the most/best new phones? Which will be the best network to stick with in the long run?
@bullwinkle12
In the long run Verizon will have LTE before anyone else and from the droid line of phones (so far the Droid and Eris but soon to add the calgary and passion that will have the Droid suffix when Verizon renames them) it looks like Verizon is serious about having some real phones.
Did I just read that Sprint might be getting another Android phone?! Please let it be so.
Zeppelin and Titanium are different phones from different platforms. No relation to each other.
Did Moto go green with this phone, or is there still a little lead in that zeppelin?
@jbcaro
Or did you mean Led in that Zeppelin?
cant be the pictured phone; android spec mandates four buttons
@artshark
really? and here I was thinking that since android was open source you could change it to fit your needs. Guess I was mistaken. and yeah different versions will mean scripting hell for developers but guess what??? moto could change it so ther eare some touchscreen buttons always on the screen. just down at the bottom.
who names a new phone after something massive and bloated?
Mm, I like the idea of HDMI output, but I don't think this'll be displacing the Droid (if it comes to VZW) even for those who don't like Sense or don't want a keyboard - not with a 3.1 inch 480x320 screen.

I'm still hoping the "Sholes tablet" is something more like the Droid.
Verizon needs more global phones BADLY. I don't know why they don't enable this in every phone?? They must make a fortune from international roaming and from what I understand GSM can be enabled in software on most chipsets these days.
it's good to see Motorola get back on track.
There's no "wow factor" for the design... other than a great OS, the design, well typical of Motorola...
