Nintendo bringing pink and blue Wiimotes to America on Valentine's Day

Hey, kids. We got your attention? Good. Remember those pink and blue Wii controllers that were quietly launched in the Land of the Rising Sun back in October? Yeah, well it seems that both of those gems are coming to the United States, but it'll be well after Christmas before you can get your hands on either (without a good importer, anyway). Starting on February 14, 2010, the blue and pink Wiimote will be on sale on US soil, and both devices will come bundled with Wii MotionPlus dongles. There's no word yet on pricing, but we're guessing a small premium is in order for those badly in need of some hue variation.

Ninty needs to start building the MotionPlus into the newer Wiimotes, rather than sticking a dongle on the bottom of them all.

I agree, build the dongle into the new remotes. And ditch the condoms, bareback all the way! Heheh...kidding aside, I ditched the rubbers years ago and have not had a single issue. All of the hype of busted TVs and faces was just contrived crap, like exploding Pintos and Chevy pickups.

How many of these things just end up in the trash, really? Not only did I trash the one's that came with the remotes, but now I get new, longer ones for the dongle? It'd be nice if Nintendo would integrate motion plus in the original form factor, that would help a bit with the junk issue. Where do I recycle this crap?

The wii condoms are a very good idea... especially when little kids are involved. I was Wii boxing a 4-year old once and he got very into it. He was flailing around like crazy and the remote flew out of his hand, hit the tile floor, and busted wide open spilling the batteries and door all over the place. Luckily nothing was broken. I quickly ordered the remote sleeves and haven't had an issue since.
