Motorola Opus One caught on video, dawg
It's pretty rare that a tech demo starts with the phrase "you know what I'm gonna do?" But, this one certainly does, a dark, shaky, but thoroughly comprehensive exploration of the recently rumored Motorola Opus One smartphone. Jive- or profanity-averse readers (or anyone who hates zebra cake) will probably want to skip the four videos embedded below, but we'll give you the highlights: iDen is confirmed, Android 1.5 Cupcake is currently installed with Motoblur frosting, there's a five megapixel camera on the back, and with its push-to-talk this one looks to be going to Nextel or Boost Mobile. Those are the deets, but click on through if you want to do that video, dawg.

Yo
@MoonWalkerCTE
That bad dude is drinking his milk. Needs to get his cookies.
YO MAN
opus one, nexus one... hummm...
@JXCGunrunna
my thoughts exactly. They better make a damn good 'two.'
Don't forget the G1.
It was just a dream, Bender. There's no such thing as two.
@The Dead Marxist Trio I hope this thing is rugged. With the exception of that iMate phone and some very bulky WinMo devices there are no smartphones on the market that are even remotely close to being rugged enough to use outdoors or that can survive occassional drops that could also be carried in the pocket without a big bulge. Wow for 2010
iDen....lol.
This is a great, an android phone that runs on a $50 unlimited plan, even though it is iden so the coverage/speed won't be a phenom. This strikes closer to the heart of what android should be though, a phone you can take and root, upgrade to the latest version, and run on a low cost network.
If it's on Boost, then there's hope for prepaid folks to get in on the Android revolution.
Wait just a damn minute here. You really expect me to believe that Nextel still exists? I wasn't born yesterday, you know.
@Chefgon haha thats funny! :D
LOL @ 3:22 in the third video.
@codemaker hahaha, that was awesome :D
As much as I love Android, I facepalmed all over this...
Ugh, iDEN static noise on speakers is even more annoying than the GSM mosquito buzz!
I feel dumber after watching this. I felt like the person who called in the middle of the first video was going to say something like "Um, hey whoever you are....I'd like my phone back."
LOL, ppl actually speak like that, wow.
also, the guy is a thief in my book, to see someone leave a phone or wallet behind at a restaurant and then let them leave so you can take it.
Opus One, eh? I sense a lawsuit over the name.
that guy is really crazy nigga
Worse demo ever
of course the guy who steals the phone HAS to be black.
@yode
...so every dark skin kid is considered black? The dude looks Phlipino if anything..
So he admits he stole this phone and then proceeds to list off every possible piece of identifying data he can find. Police knocking on his door in 3...2....1
yea thats pretty stupid the worse demo ever on top of that. who films a phone in dirty tube socks with old weed bags laying out? wow. but on another note it was cool to see that nextels getting a more relivant device, just hope my customers dont ask me if its rugged. another thing too I have heard good rumors about the lack of data speed and a good remedy besides wi-fi
Will Boost kids know what to do w/ this? Besides have it play YouTube or mp3? I dunno, I always question situations like this. iDEN, the same network that just about crashed when Boost decided to throw unlimited web and texts to its customers, having an Android handset w/ data intensive Blur...really? I know we like to keep everyone moving forward, but I dunno about this move.
