Twitter for Zune coming tomorrow, @Facebook where are you?
Poetically enough announced via a tweet, the Zune team has given word that the long-awaited Twitter app is coming to Microsoft's little media player that could. Coupled with November's release of 3D games, by our count that leaves only Facebook left as the promised Zune app officially registering M.I.A. More details for tomorrow's release in the morning, and with so many Twitter apps available on other platforms as case studies, we'll be expecting some good things here, mkay Redmond?

@Streetfights
Wha- I was talking bout my brand of pants. You dirty whore you.
@yulebellow
morning blowj*b...
If a real App Store can come together, I think the Zune will gain some major market share.
@rampar Agreed! Hoping they are planning for this.
@rampar
Unlikely to happen until things are finalised with WinMo7. Last thing I think they would want is seperate marketplaces for Zune and WinMo.
@(Unverified)
this IS Microsoft we're talking about here.

Crossing my fingers this will be for the Zune 30, 80, 120, etc as well as the HD. A man can dream.
@Sakiel
They stopped adding features to the old zunes. Just like they said they wouldn't. >_>
@Tiptup300 And plus, how would a Twitter app on a device with a D-pad work exactly? You'd be moaning and groaning about how hard it is to tweet.
@kris120890 When you have more than one person tweeting for an account, they put ^[Initials] to signify who it is.
@kris120890
Fantastic initials.

We slowly march to victory
Maybe someday Zune will reach the 100 App mark. I will shed tears on that day
@perrypiper quality over quantity my friend
@kojo87 it just so happens that there are several thousand quality apps on the app store for all different purposes. just ignore the kiddy apps.
@perrypiper
I would rather have a zune hd 120 than more apps
@KeegdnaB
So its a guy called blowjob. I get ya.
This is all well and good, but when is the Zune HD being released outside the US? Microsoft, give Canada some love!
@cruzr007
And Zune Pass! Why Microsoft doesn't want my money?!
@GoodBytes They do....it's the record companies that don't
@cruzr007
Whats a Canada?
Yawn.
@ridley182
Just like that bj.
I have no idea how Microsoft's E&D division expects the Zune platform to succeed when there is: 1)no availability in regions outside of the US- (even Canada), leaving millions of potential customers in the dust 2) no aggressive and widespread advertising campaign that includes billboards and tv ads. 2) no viral marketing POST product launch and most importantly in my opinion 3) no OS X compatibility?
Is the Zune some kind of joke?
@poematik14
No. I think Microsoft has a hard time accepting the Zune themselves. One part they want to make an MP3 player, the other they don't, and to top thing over.. another third part wants integration with Windows Mobile 7. This is my guess.
@poematik14
Their financial reserves are "adequate" and can be sustained for a few decades without international product launches, which is why I think they aren't as concerned about it, or its marketing strategies. At this point, I think they're performing a *very* long term experimental approach to PMP product placement in the local U.S. market, and will eventually launch the Zune internationally once a local market is established.
Wow...great news..for all of the existing 20 Zune HD owners
Woot. Now all that is necessary to use this feature is to get meself a Zune HD...
...You hear that, Santa?
Great, now all they need for the Zune is the feature where they can repair an HD with a cracked screen.
I really hope this means the Facebook app will hit tomorrow too. I don't use Twitter, no one does, so who cares.
@Mitch yeah, nobody at all uses twitter........
@Riley Twitter is a joke, it's sinking faster than it rose up. The only thing keeping it afloat is advertisers.
I hope this isn't the only app coming out tomorrow.
You guys must be so excited to get a Twitter app. Hooray? Does Microsoft honestly expect other major companies to even care about the Zune HD when they seem to be purposely limiting its capabilities? Release an App Store now, then incorporate it into Windows Mobile 7.
nice... kind of just really want a decent weather app, then i will be appy... har har har...
I really hope they drop a 64GB version soon. I'm getting tempted to buy a touch!
Wait, the Zune is still around? Who are we kidding here?
Meh... I don't have a Twitter account and have no plans to download this app. Hopefully the Facebook App is available tomorrow too, but if not I hope it at least releases soon. I'm not sure how often I'd use it, but I'm really curious as to how it will be.
Interesting. Haven't found any internet connection to work with my Zune HD yet, not even my own router. I'm kinda disappointed they're pretty much going to ignore the 2nd generation of Zunes, as I haven't seen any update for them since the Zune HD has come out.
What's the best way to clean fingerprint smudge off a Zune screen?
@Quikboy
Lens cloth.
How about Enterprise Network Support for the Zune HD?
I mean the zune could have the facebook app of the gods but it is useless to me an 75% of the rest of the users because we can't use it on a real enterprise network where we spend 75% of our day.
Hopefully they have like 6000 secret apps with the Twitter one. That would be such a surprise! I won't get my hopes up.
Ugh... Twitter is so fucking annoying
@r34p3r
Not as annoying as the twats who use it
The one thing I don't like about my zune hd is the lack of a few useful apps that are available on the ipod touch... I wished they open up the development process... this makes me not recommend it to anyone and suggest the ipod touch unless they they just want a music player for zune pass.
Zune nation? More like Zune village.
