BlackBerry Curve 8530 now available on Sprint
What's this we see here? Looks like the Curve 8530 has made it to Sprint after all. When all is said and done, she'll cost you $50 with a new contract (after mail in rebate). Featuring a 2.5-inch display, OS 5.0, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and glorious, glorious WiFi, this is a solid, sensible device. Besides, if you wanted pizazz, you'd be looking at a Pureness right now. That, or you could always do a number on this guy with some Swarovski crystals and a hot glue gun -- but please, don't.

Hey its $50 cheaper than Verizon, thats always good!
Is this the only carrier the Curve is available on? I really hate sprint.
@ashleythehottiest No it is one Verizon also, but it is $50 more.
@ashleythehottiest
Too bad you hate Sprint so much. You'll be paying a lot more per month with any other carrier. Have fun with that.
@ashleythehottiest: Why would Sprint want a customer who thinks hottiest is the correct way to spell hottest? Your carrier should be Phonics.
@Scape3d Okay i will

Would it have killed to list the MSRP?
ditching my tour fantasy to this. Haha
Very nice device indeed. RIM has a lot of great offerings. Now if only they can fix their BIS outage issues http://www.engadget.com/2009/12/17/blackberry-email-down-delayed-in-north-america/
Ok it's very good looking, but someone please explain to me why they thought it was a good idea to drop the camera flash? Ugh. Dealbreaker :(
@moochy989 Cutting costs. The screen is also of lower quality.
I feel like the Tour is the new Curve, the Curve 8530 is the extremely budget device and the Curve 8900 is a regret, made before they decided what to do with the Tour/Bold coexistence.
@moochy989
That's how RIM differentiates their products from each other.
Wifi, Bluetooth, Camera, Camera Flash, and 3G. Pick two, maybe three and you've got yourself a new phone!
I bought one yesterday and I love it. I was kinda hesitant but I watched this and I just bought it on impulse and I never looked back.

I'm happy for the Sprint guys, but this is overpriced Why get a Curve 8530 for $50 w/ a Sprint when you can get a 3G Bold 9700 for free w/ an AT&T (courtesy of Amazon). Yes, AT&T's network is overloaded with iPhone users. However, Sprint's isn't that much better. Is the iDEN Push-To-Talk really that important these days?
@JustinY
Because these "Same Phone - Big Differences" reasons:
> Sprint provides superior call quality
> Sprint provides superior 3G coverage
> Over 2 years, the ATT Wireless service will cost $1,680 MORE than Sprint with comparable features such as:
Unlimited Talk (Anytime and Mobile-to-Mobile)
Unlimiited Data
Unlimited Text
Voice Guided Navigation
Mobile TV
This is not a flame attack, rather they're just the facts.
