T-Mobile bringing HTC HD2 to the States? All .nbh files point to 'yes'
You know those times when you're sifting through an undercooked ROM, dumping .nbh files right and left, asking yourself: "is this even worth it?" Well, the folks at WMExperts can answer with a resounding fist pump after digging up references to T-Mobile US in an HTC HD2 prerelease ROM that was recently leaked their way. At this point we're looking at a new 2.01 version of the HD2 software in the T-Mobile version, a big jump from the 1.61 seen in previous leaks, which maybe will smooth over some of those performance woes we experienced with the device. WMExperts also claims a March 2010 release date, which seems a while to wait, but somebody told us once about "good things" coming to "waiters" or something like that, so we're cautiously optimistic.

This would be the only winmo phone worth owning
HD2 or NEXUSONE?
HD2, NexusOne, Xperia X10, and N900 .... wow lol
Tmobile getting serious :)
Guess their new plans were just a start
Can we get it on a network that has actual coverage outside of major metropolitan cities?
@dp88 Ignorance is bliss eh?
@SParklingCYaNide
Look at their map and compare it to sprint, verizon or att. Its like looking back into the 90s
Is the xperia x10 going to be available on the 850mhz band at all? Wind mobile in canada has poor coverage at the moment, this is not good.
This is the death for Sprint. We have the HD2, Nexus, Xperia X10, and the N900 going to T-Mobile. We have the rumor of iPhone going to Verizon. What's left for Sprint? The HTC Touch Diamond 2?
If anyone thinks about going with Sprint, don't do it. The phone selection is crappy. Their customer service is the same. Dan from Sprint talks about change....but nothing substantial has change at Sprint. They answer your phone calls faster and they remember to say thank you after they are done talking, but that's pretty much it. They still cannot fix your problems.
@miakotamatsue
yeah but sprint plan is the cheapest, i'm getting the everything data (which includes text, gps, unlimited data) w/ unlimited mobile to mobile calls to and from any network + 450 lan line mins per month + free nights start at 7pm for $51.09 per month.
right now i'm debating whether to activate this plan with the touch pro 2 or get the nexus one unlocked and pay $70/month. sigh. if only sprint got some decent android phones.
@Adil
You get what you pay for. I hope that you won't ever have a problem with your Sprint phone or need customer service. I got a HTC Touch Pro. I have so many issues with it freezing up, GPS not working, calls don't go through and not seeing calls that were missed, text messages coming days late, etc. The phone has a lot of known issues. Even Sprint Technical Support admitted to me that that particular phone has a lot of issues. Trying to get technical assistance for that phone was, is, and going to be a nightmare for me Got bounced from one operator to another and another and another. Said that they were going to call me back on an issue and they never did. Like I said, they are more polite now than they used to be. But, it seems like they are still reading from scripts and none of them representatives including the supervisors have the authority to make any resolutions.
I wanted this to go to sprint sooo bad. My dreams have been crushed lol.. Sprint really needs to step their game up their line up of phones is the worst now. Atleast tell us what we have to look forward to for 2010 and not leave us in the dark.
My contract with sprint is up in October. If they dont have anything good by then or atleast news something to look foward to Im gone.
@HustleHard101
Haha you're making this claim in the middle of December... hilarious.
You do know that at this time last year the Pre, Pixi, Hero, Moment, Tour, and TP2 were all unknowns and Sprint had those. Just because T-Mo leaks like a sieve doesn't mean Sprint is asleep.

This phone is probably the greatest tragedy to date in the smart phone market. Largest capacitive touch screen, snapdragon processor, beautiful design aesthetic, ideal form factor, etc, etc...
But it's Windows Mobile, so none of that matters.
@Xephrey
But it's Windows Mobile, so none of that matters.
Just keep telling yourself that, some of us know better.
@jon Some of us know better? As in some of you know how to get Android on it? :)
WinMo used to be hot stuff back when it was the only thing around, but now there are better things out there. We no longer need to be in the dark ages of mobile operating systems. Its so embarrassing that HTC has to go out of their way to make a WinMo device appealing by pretty much making a pretty skin for it with all sorts of custom flashy, eye candy doodads. All you have to do is launch one of the core apps like Excel and you're put back seven years. Then you see what kind of framework your seemingly new phone is based on.
It really seems as though Microsoft truly doesn't care so much about WinMo anymore. But I suppose that's nothing new; I could have said that a few years ago and it'd be just as valid then as it is today.
@Xephrey I thought the X10 was an Android device...
@hfm Yeah, it is. I'm talking about the HTC HD2.
Seriously US needs to unlock phones to carries.
This doesn't really tell us nothing, for all we know this is just a leaked dumped rom for the EU tombile HD2 which we already know they are getting, and as from experiance i never say the telenav package in any NA nbh, only in EU and Asia roms.. but meh, it does come to US thats great, means i can snatch one for half assness on att sucky network.
@iNeedaUsername Considering the packages are named "TMOUS" it would make a person believe it is referring to T-Mobile US. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure it's obvious at this point.
To all those that are saying this device is wasted because of Windows Mobile -- at least this device is currently WM7 capable under the current chassis 1 requirements. Nothing against Android, but if you want Android on a Snapdragon-based phone, they have others that are coming out next year that you can drool over.
@CryptArc I know there is a lot of animosity against AT&T, but in Florida the T-Mobile 3G stinks. I travel for work to Miami often and inside buildings I get the "Emergency Calls Only" message or "Call failed".... I thought it was the Touch Pro 2... but it happens to any T-Mobile phone inside buildings. I have co-workers there with Sprint - same issue, but people with Verizon or AT&T get calls and web normally - even decent 3G signal. So right now I am testing a TP2 from Verizon and the LG Expo from AT&T, because I really hate to miss calls and have like 12 voicemails when I walk out the door.
In conclusion, I think T-Mobile's 3G is weak in many places. :S (I love their prices and what they are doing ... but seriously, we need better coverage in FL)
Had this phone for 2 days now and it is amazing. My first introduction to Win mo is a good one. Onyl fault so far is the keyboard is sometimes too sensitive and can go insane but so far so good!
Man, I was really hoping this would come to Verizon or Sprint. T-mobile is the worst Wireless carrier out there. Yuck! What waste of good hardware, HTC had to have made better deals, because they are definately losing out on this!
No android. No keyboard. All fail.
@John Doe : Then you fail. If this phone doesn't have the stuff you want, then it's not meant for you. Other people on the other hand, love the phone just fine based on what we see here.
Isn't Tmo putting this out in UK? How do we know this isn't just that rom?
anybody knows wen dis phone come out in tmoblie store? im very excited to have one...
seriously when is this phone coming out in the US? HD2 > N1
