B.O.S.S. Wiimote shell fills giant people with sense of SNES nostalgia
It might be hard to tell from the picture, but that B.O.S.S. controller, built by Performance Designed Products, is no controller at all. Instead it's a SNES controller-shaped, super-sized shell that slides over a regular Wiimote and turns it into a monstrosity of memories and oversized buttons. Kudos for ingenuity, but unfortunately the playability suffers and the bulk is just too much to handle, according to Ars Technica. For $10 you can't fault it too much (and it least it isn't reliant on its own batteries, a sore subject for the manufacturer), but we think we might save that cash for some international postage to write Nintendo about its unconscionable neglect of the Wii Classic Controller with New Super Mario Bros. Wii.

buttons 1 and 2?
this is no snes controller
You'd think about one second of play testing would tell you that the angle the 1 and 2 buttons are at is a little steep.
@giclutch I haven't used it myself, but if you look at the back, where the buttons push through to press the 1 and 2 buttons actually lines up fine with the buttons. I assume it'll work fine, but I can't guarantee.
Why the orange?
Why not?.
@ethana2 Of course, the guy with the brown-and-orange Ubuntu logo for an icon is offended by the suggestion that orange is a gaudy color :-P (just kidding, not hatin' on Ubuntu...)

C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER!!!
Dumbass. It was too early to do that.
having large hands, this looks awesome.
large as in original xbox controllers fit nicely, can palm basketball, etc.
i want one
This would be awesome for new SMB! I want it!!
@tylersmyler
That's what I thought until I got mine in the mail and actually tried to play with it. It's kind of cumbersome.
Am i the only one who isnt to disappointed about the lack of classic controller support on NSMBW? dont get me wrong i would love to have it, but im more downtrodden over the lack of online. I'm pretty sure a sequel is a no-brainier, and Nintendo is usually pretty good about addressing the biggest complaints of the previous game.
Unless its voice acting. Ninty never listens to us on that one
@Karate Tortoise
LMAO @ your name ... I'll go ahead and + you on that alone.
@Karate Tortoise Nah, I'm not too miffed about the lack of online, it's much more of a party game than an online game. The lack of classic controller support though, that's just baffling.
I just want a normal console from Nintendo again, I'm about out of love for them at this point. New Super Mario Bros. for the Wii relit the flame for a week or two though, but that's about it bah.
I'ld like to see the original NES controller for wii.
@gittenlucky
You could always get one of these.

I actually grabbed one of these a few weeks ago, and I really like it. For just 10 bucks, I recommend it to anyone playing anything that uses sideways-wiimote controls, such as New Super Mario Bros.
Hooray... we giant people get screwed over so often on sweet video game stuff. Ok, so this might suck, I don't know, but it's something.
@jdevlin
What about the Xbox controller? Or the Dreamcast controller? Those were designed specifically for a fucking yetti.
@W31RD0
HAHAHA! +1!!!!
Tried that in Fry's Electronics. The buttons were little hard to press but it is pretty comfortable than using the wiimote for sure.

@tap profit funnel
Best post ever.
Tap profit tunnel. I'm almost tempted to click.
If the 1 & 2 buttons were angled the other way it would be perfect.
