Poor iPhone reception graduates to SNL 'Weekend Update' joke status

Cue uproarious applause.
Update: Video after the break! Thanks Michael!
Update 2: In typical SNL fashion, the video has been pulled from YouTube. Keep an eye out for a Hulu berth!

Not amused.
Yes
@Peytral wow you look hot
@Steve Jobs
Oh SNAP!
@Steve Jobs
Wow that was a lackluster video...
@Peytral
Wow, you are fake as hell. How about not trying to pretend appear as someone you aren't?
@Steve Jobs "and one more thing...."
@Steve Jobs
So which multitouch gesture do you have planned to kill Seth?
@Steve Jobs
This guy reminds me of BJ Novak, except with the funny...
@Steve Jobs
To see how the pros do it Steve, buy a BlackBerry. They work just fine
@Steve Jobs The first time I've seen a first comment that was actually good.
dont get your butt hurt stevie cuz its true!!
@Steve Jobs: You look and talk like the devil
@Steve Jobs
Then you must be -very- amused, hehe.
@Steve Jobs Very droll
@Steve Jobs Make a better product and put it on a better network.
@(Unverified)
... unless the blackberry is on ATT?
@Steve Jobs
Neither am I!
@Steve Jobs
If it makes you feel any better you can always say: "It's not my fault, call ATT if you can!"
@Steve Jobs really amusing especially when you see the wittiness of the clip is below absolute zero. I must say, Luke Wilson can yuk it up a little bit more. And now iPhone is against Verizon as well: http://bit.ly/att-is-calling-their-big-daddy-apple-for-help
Amused
@Eric Schmidt
Hmm...
@Eric Schmidt
So funny and so true. LMAO
@Eric Schmidt
Very amused. Especially because it's partly true.
@Flix C
Hey, at least they show off and/or talk about some features/benefits. "DROID Does[n't have the balls to that in most of it's ads :P]" Unless the Droid has a circular saw built into it, then I take that back :I
I was a little bit disappointed that they didn't mention AT&T.
@Clinko
I agree, I don't think it's the iPhones fault. Mine is on Telus in Canada and I get better service with it and less dropped calls than my Touch Diamond.
@Clinko Agreed. It makes it seem like it's the iPhone's fault, rather than AT&T's shoddy network.
@Greg7388 It's a JOKE. It's not supposed to be informative, it just has to be funny.
@Clinko
"AT&T Takes the Blame, Even for the iPhone’s Faults"

@Tehuti
Specific Quotes:
"“AT&T’s data throughput is 40 to 50 percent higher than the competition, including Verizon,” Mr. Carter said. AT&T is a client and Verizon is not, he added."
and
"This year, Root Wireless ran 4.7 million tests on smartphones for each of the four major carriers, spread across seven metropolitan areas: Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles/Orange County, New York, Seattle/Tacoma, the San Francisco Bay Area, and Washington. In every market, AT&T had faster average download speeds and had signal strength of 75 percent or better more frequently than did Verizon. (A Verizon spokesman declined to comment about these test results or those of Global Wireless Solutions.)
I asked Ron Dicklin, chief technology officer at Root Wireless, how these results, showing AT&T as the clear leader, could be reconciled with the negative appraisal of Consumer Reports’ respondents. He explained that his company’s tests of AT&T’s data network were done with handsets other than the iPhone, which does not allow non-Apple programs like his to run in the background.
AT&T’s besting of Verizon in these tests is all the more remarkable considering the sudden jump in the volume of mobile data that its network has had to handle with the introduction of the iPhone 3G in 2008: approximately 4,000 percent."

@Tehuti
Oh, I remember reading this the other day. Really makes you think ...
@Greg7388 If I were in a race and lost, do you think the fans care that I put cheap gas in the car? Do you think they would say ," he should of won anyway" ? I dont think so ..
This is SNL after all , do you think there gonna go into all the details why the iphone is way over rated. I would some what understand if this video was posted by CNET. Ya'll have to stop taking this shit so personal. You didnt make the phone , You dont have stock in AT&T, And their not talking about your mother.
Its just a phone at the end of the day, Just not a good phone. Great media player and portable gaming device .
@Eduardo
Just like Apple's "I'm a Mac" ads.
@Anthony Joel
two phones...REALLY,...really?
@Eduardo
"not supposed to be informative"
You mean like an Apple add ?

@Clinko
The iPhone has bad call quality on any network; Telcel's, Vodaphone's, Telefonica's....you name it. I've learned not to rely on that little toy for serious stuff.
Actually, the iPhone's radio IS somewhat underwhelming.
Here in Oz, my iPhone owning friends often get no 3G reception in places my G1 gets 3-full bars.
It's like that across all networks.
I was using mine literally in the middle of the scrub last night, 130k w of Mt Isa to check rain with full bars.
And I was sitting in my friends house the day before with no bars and they did. Both phones o Telstra.
It's the network and how it interacts with the environment
Phone calls....is there an app for that?
@Blacknimbus
Verizon would argue that there's no map for that.
@zeal
Only if you are either illiterate or blind. The only other excuse is that you have a CTR that is from the mid 80's and has stretched the screen to the point where you can't see the "where 3G is available" in the AT&T ads.
@JXCGunrunna
I hope for your sake, you mean CRT.
@ibopm
Yup. I am semi ydslexic apparentyl
@Blacknimbus
Got rejected. Vague message about not censoring some russian 900 number, and duplicating upcoming functionality.
@ibopm Either way, Cathode tube ray sounds waaay cooler and menacing ;)
@Blacknimbus yes there was it was called Google voice but since it made better calls it was deemed as duplicating functionality and rejected by the app store so i guess no there is no app for that sorry :C.......
@Blacknimbus
at least there's an app for no phone calls:
http://www.engadget.com/2009/12/07/atandts-new-iphone-app-conveys-your-disappointment-in-real-time/
That was great. Might have been the best part of snl tonight :/
