Camangi WebStation makes FCC test bench appearance, torn down for good measure
Might this make it by the end of the year? Camangi has been touting its "early bird" pre-orders for the WebStation Android tablet for nearly a month now, and has been indicating things would ship before the month is through. Now we have confirmation that if that date doesn't happen you won't be able to blame the FCC. Our favorite US independent agency (next to NASA) issued its approval of the device back on November 14, and shared some lovely disassembly pictures for good measure (after the break). This means the thing isn't likely to kill you or to make your TV go all weird, but doesn't necessarily mean it'll hit your mailbox before the holidays are over. That, dear readers, is up to a higher power: Santa Claus.

...who's "tom"?
=P
Wow I never thought I'd see another one of those junky Canon BJC-210 "football" printers again. I thought they all have rotted away by now.
@tanooki2003 no prob there for the FCC. they tear down so many electronics they can easily replace all broken parts on their devices ;)
@tanooki2003 It's an HP Deskjet 400.
@tanooki2003
Oops you're right. it is an HP DeskJet 400.
someone call up the fail whale. this baby only has 256MB of internal NAND storage. after that you can max it out at only 16GB via a micro SD slot.
with a device that's 7.8" x 4.7" they should have at least 16GB of internal storage and probably 2 SDHC slots in this bad boy.
the 256MB internal memory is either a misprint or is flat out a failure.
That item on the desk which I suppose to be a calendar confuses me. Too many numbers!
@Darak
That code has to be entered into that terminal every 108 minutes. I'm sure you know what happens if they don't...
WTF is going on here?
External modem?!?!
Parallel ports?!?!
CRT?!?!?
Is that Windows 3.1?
It needs a dot matrix printer to complete the image.
@glamajamma
They never got any of this working due to IRQ conflicts.
(referring to the picture)
I'm glad the FCC is making sure my fancy new electronics don't interfere with my 1993 Apple Style Writer II inkjet printer.
and you guys know at govt. prices, all the 1990's equipment on that table just cost us $20,000
Have you ever seen anything as depressing-looking as that room? Doesn't exactly stem the perpetuation of thought that the FCC isn't exactly a fun-time organisation!
