Another Google Nexus One sighting, this time a wee bit more clear
How a phone given to thousands of employees still manages to be nothing more than an occasional blip on the internets continues to boggle our mind. This latest Nexus One / "Google Phone" sighting comes care of two Twitter chatters -- @djrobrob and the less protected account of @phillm. It's the clearest shot of the interface we've gotten, and given our previous go-to videos have been subsequently pulled, the best "motion picture" interpretation we've got -- take a look for yourself after the break.

The same tired ass photos from yesterday with the useless video accompaniment.
@CJ100570
Did someone piss in your breakfast this morning??
@CJ100570
is that a penguin pokemon on heroin?
@skyblaze Although, we are still crossing our fingers that added sauce will arrive as the days to Nexus One countdown reaches its peak. I must say the Android Swype on the walkthrough vid is pretty cool. Nexus One reactions: http://bit.ly/nexus-one-reactions-to-walkthrough
Sexy wallpaper.
@Engadgeter I really like the back cover. Awesome ! The Droid looks so cool :D
@Engadgeter
I saw this phone yesterday on the train from Giants Stadium. Actually it was two women (one had a Google winter coat on) holding it and discussing it. Man, AMOLED is so delicious. Can't even tell where the screen ends. Definitely want, though I think it's probably in everybody's best interest to wait until June to see if Apple hits another homerun (though it's not likely).
@crawdad689
Apple has way to many things to do with the iPhone and as they've always done with the majority of their products, they probably won't get all these things done in one shot, they will release it bit by bit until things reach generation 10 or 15, when it all could have been done at generation 4 or 5.
I say, go Android.
@crawdad689
Yeah! Im pretty sure I saw one in the East Bay. We were at a restaurant and I saw a lady pull out a phone. I thought I caught a glimpse of thr Android waving the flag on the back and I was so excited judy yo know I had seen it in real life. Everyone at her table was looking at it. Can't wait for this phone. The more I hear; the more I want. Really looking forward to Android. Google!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What's the QR code on the back say?
@(Unverified)
It says http://www.android.com/holidays
@(Unverified)
android.com/holidays
QR Code on the back takes me to www.android.com/holidays
old news
What does the QRcode say?
I can't get it clear enough to translate without opening up photoshop
If this is Android 2.1 I'm going to jizz myself. There better be a way to get this on my Samsung Moment.
@arashed31 Moment and Hero getting 2.1

Google's making a phone?!?
@yulebellow
Where have you been
@yulebellow Must've been quite a heavy rock you've been living under
This is basically what I was hoping the passion/dragon would be that was rumored to be coming to Verizon. This phone looks much nicer than the current picture of the Bravo floating around.
It's just a shame that if this phone does make it to us, it might be GSM-only. The sooner LTE gets up and running, the better. I'm tired of being locked out of phones because of the GSM vs. CDMA limitation.
First of all, what happened to the Nexus trademark that Steve Jobs owns? Also, PLEASE don't be vaporware.
www.android.com/holidays + www.google.com (click I'm feeling lucky) + earlier reports of a 1H 2010 launch = This phone is launching Jan 1st.
That's just my interpretation anyways.
@DavidT It seems to be a countdown to the end of the year, but I will be optimistic and agree with you, Jan 1st it is!
So the phone rests on the camera lens when you set it down? Captain, we've just located Major Fail.
@conscious
There's a "bubble" on the back casing of the phone that sticks out further than the lens. Every phone with a camera is like that.
@conscious
Unless that's what you're talking about and how it would wobble when you set it down. In that case, I agree, that sucks. It would have been better if it were sunken in the case.
@DavidT Lens... bubble... it's the window the camera sees through, and that baby's gonna get scratched to bits.
@conscious i love everything about the phone's styling except that silly camera bubble, it's awful. in that shot of the phone with its back casing off, it looks like that bubble is completely unnecessary. poor design decision
I love how I was downranked with nobody replying as to why. Blind orgasming 'omggooglephone!' people, most likely. I like the phone, but the bubble is stupid. so sue me.
Secret number on google.com means Nexus One launch? Try it, hit 'Im Feeling Lucky' on google.com and see!
@LiteSoul That would be neat if that were the reason for the timer but I think the fact that we're approaching a new year is a more likely candidate.
@LiteSoul
That is clearly counting down till the end of the year it has 8 days left and its the 23rd.
The code once scanned goes to www.android.com/holidays
which redirects but if you inspect some of the other code , its full of christmas android images, which tells me they must plan to open or start the site before christmas, so maybe as soon as a day or so?
http://www.android.com/holidays/js/main.js
You get some script that has nexus one references and images
See here for the hidden android images http://blogoscoped.com/forum/164866.html (scroll down)
@Hydra http://www.androidphonegeek.com/?p=1843 Looks like it is a game that only works when accessed from a Nexus One handset, or a browser that spoofs the Nexus One user agent.
@Hydra
I think that site and the Christmas andriod images were only meant for the Google employees that got the phone, to see.
So, in one picture I'm seeing the no SIM card icon, and in another picture with the back off, I'm not seeing a SIM card slot. Where are they hiding it?
@RCH it's to the right of the SD card slot in the pic that shows the battery - I played with one recently: http://tnkgrl.wordpress.com/2009/12/18/exclusive-google-nexus-one-hands-on/
@(Unverified) I thought that looked like it might be it, but didn't want to jump to conclusions. Thanks. :D

Meh. Xperia X10 trumps it in every possible way, not only bec of the looks, but also with the bigger screen, and front camera. Bring on the video call VOIP apps.
@TareG Last I heard and saw, their UI was not running as fluidly as what we're seeing here.
@TareG OLED and (hopefully) 25-33% of the price of an X10
@Akhen
The last video is pretty smooth (and that's a few months before final optimization)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m19Lu-JUW1Q
You're right about the price though, it will be a lot cheaper than the X10... but I need a good looking phone with a front camera. My parents live across the globe and it's nice to be able to video call them over VOIP for free anytime, anywhere.
Going to android.com/holidays with the proper Nexus One User Agent gives you a simple android holiday flip card memory game. Nothing all that illuminating, but a bit fun nonetheless.
I'll have to admit the way all apps appeared on the screen was cool... much cooler than the ugly drawer.
@(Unverified)
Ugly as fuck? If I remember correctly, fuck originally was a coined term in Old English that farmers use to describe the action of stiking seeds into the ground with poles, then because of the reference, used it (as a derogatory term) to mean the action of sex.
In other words, ugly as sex?
Don't know what kind of sex you've been having, then.
hey look, a normal looking phone being hyped up because it has android
@Troll
Yes it looks normal, but that's not the point, it's the specs that are the impressive feature of this phone (read previous articles on Engadget or the rest of the web). That and who may be selling it. There are many other Android phones that have been released with next to no hype.
