@SirNoDroin touché the press about dropping the avertisting might be a good thing for them, but the thing is EVERYONE is dropping sponsership of the show, so its pretty much getting covered by the rest of the news.
I think dell should have kept it, with there "targeted to high-school/college kid cool school laptop" adverts. That target audience is surely watching, and shows with cult followings are usually the easiest type of consumer to sway i would think. And among this group, if Dell was the "cool company" I'm sure they would be swayed to buy one (similar to how people buy Apple products for the coolness factor)
