Sanyo's Eneloop music booster keeps stage musicians effect-ed
If there's even a faint need for a recharging solution, there's a decent shot that Sanyo will have an Eneloop device to fit the situation. Take the newly announced music booster, for instance, which is designed to sit alongside your Tube Screamer, TU-2 Chromatic Tuner and RV600 Reverb Machine in order to keep the juice flowin' even if a breaker trips mid-solo. Truthfully, the device could be used to energize pretty much anything that taps into a 9V power source, and if you're concerned over noise interference, Sanyo assures us that you shouldn't be. The unit -- which goes on sale in March 2010 -- can be fully regenerated in around 3.5 hours, and depending on the drain of the device(s) it's powering, can keep things going for anywhere between 2 and 50 hours. Rock on, as they say.

Well I guess this is a semi-better idea than the eneloop handwarmers, but I'll just stick with my AA batteries from them for now.
Well that's great and all... assuming you have a UPS for you amp. Then wouldn't you just power your pedals from the UPS too?
If you're actually doing anything big, you would need a huge UPS to keep everything running.
Besides, what about the stage lighting?
@guitarguru102 And a UPS for your amp doesn't help much if the PA system goes down. Yes, there are a couple of things about this product that don't make sense.
@CtrlBurn And I'm way slow on that. D'oh.
@CtrlBurn this isn't a UPS it is a 9v power source for effects pedals that is rechargable and has more capacity than a regulat 9v battery thet most pedals use.
Most of the time you would need a pedal board:
http://www.engadget.com/2005/07/12/how-to-build-your-own-pedal-board/
but that plugs into mains and can cause noise issues or ground loops, this way you should get "clean" power without messing about with a bunch of wallwarts or swapping batteries.
It isn't for when the power goes out it is just another way to power pedals without stringing cords,
some musicians need power without cords or in places were running cords is harder than battery power, this would work better for the alturnative were every pedal needs a seperate little 9v installed and replaced as needed.
This will replace my 1 spot :D
does it go up to 11 though?
If the power does go out on stage while you are playing, it either means 1.) You suck. Someone pulled the plug. Take it as a sign for you and your band to GTFO or 2.) Everything else has lost power too. Amps, PA's, everything. What's the purpose of keeping your stompboxes powered at this point?
I use Sanyo's Eneloop rechargeable batteries for my 360 controller, they are beyond awesome.
But I have no clue what the point of this device is...
Well seeing as it is a misdemeanor in some states to stop playing/singing the National Anthem while in the middle of it, this could actually have some use.
Are these eneloop products available in the USA anywhere?
