Well well. Look at this. Taking a page from the CES-challenging Apple / Macworld playbook, Google has announced a press event on January 5th (just like
we told you) in Mountain View, stating:
With the launch of the first Android-powered device just over a year ago, we've seen how a powerful, open platform can spur mobile product innovation. And this is just the beginning of what's possible.
Please join us in Mountain View on January 5, for an Android press gathering.
If this lines up with the news we've seen recently, it's likely a
Nexus One announcement will be the order of the day, and most (if not all) of your nagging questions will get answered. You know we'll be there live... so hang on to your hats, and mark down the date!
@TFNN
Impossible, Steve Jobs doesn't have any tissue.... he's a cyborg.
Liver transplant was a coverstory for a battery swap which was actually quite a complex procedure because like the Iphone, his batteries are not user replacable.
Hmmmm. Assuming the N1 is < $500...
I'll have to bail out of my family share plan with AT&T... (bye bye iPhone).
I'll need to set my Dad as the Primary Line on the plan, switch the discount to his state discount, break my line out of the contract (what is it, $175 pro-rated?), and grab a T-Mobile Even more Plus plan.
Worth it? Oh hell yes.
I think it's an announcement that they results on the google search page are going to be supplied by BING! from now on. Most of the press conference is going to be a video of Balmer dancing and singing his BING! song.
I'm going to go with Android 2.5...
And the six month wait for HTC to update Sense :(
Or something about the Nexus one... Whatever
itd be hysterical if they announce the nexus one
for Q4. that'd a lot of nerds very angry
They're gonna announce the new line of T-1000s
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
They're going to give out the nexus one to anyone there, I just know it, like they did with the ION! It's not fair, I want one!!!
are you wet now?lol...
but I want this in Europe
^^^^^^^
Probably be a real Android, and run for President ...and win!
I really, really like this phone. But I have Sprint and it works for me. In order to switch to T-mobile, my phone bill would almost triple to get what I have now. I love the phone, but I can't afford (don't want to) T-Mobile. Why can't Sprint get this?
@CallDon
Because sprint is running on a 3rd world 3g standard.
CDMA
@CallDon
CDMA is crap.
Everyone but Palm understood this couple of years ago.
Meanwhile Palm has created one of the most innovative and awesome smartphone and is still loosing money.
Why ? cause they were unable to provide a GSM version before their Pre became irrelevant.
Sad. just like sprint.
Check out the colors of the fireworks on the upper part of that invitation - Blue, Red, Yellow, Green? Check out the colors of the leaked Nexus One boot animation - Blue, Red, Yellow, Green? Check out the colors of the Google logo (those letters) - Blue, Red, Yellow, Green?
If this is not THE Google-phone then I do not know what is.
Good observation ppkarppi
i think i just understood google's plan. they are going to sell 'google phones' they buy themselves from manufacturing OHS partners at cost (ie. great products with a great OS very cheap compared to what the consumer is used to) to get their mobile ad-displaying/revenue-generating model out in the open. all you have to do is plug directly into the grid. aren't we doing that anyways right now? google is an amazing company, love them or hate them.
This is going to be a really good year for gadgets.
Google, Apple, MS, and Nokia are in positions to really change the way we talk/do everything else. I think Palm is pretty much over.
I just hope it's not a mobile version of that POS Google Wave.
@MisterK
Ha, you tried to slip MS in there, eh? They're not doing anything this year.
