Not much to say here other than there's a PlayStation emulator for the HD2 and it bloody well works! The original gangster of consoles, already emulated on other WinMo devices such as
Toshiba's TG01, has made its way to HTC's finest thanks to version 0.10 of the

CE. You can hit the read link to find out how to get it up and running on your own handset, and then we'll naturally expect you to come back and tell us how good it felt to play
Final Fantasy VII in a whole new way. The more impatient among you will already be watching video of the HD2 running
Tekken 3 effortlessly after the break, so go join 'em already.
@Chefgon
According to the source used in the Wikipedia article, the US called the original PlayStation PSX for short while the rest of the world just used PlayStation.
How the hell do you know what buttons your pressing? I get the arrows but what about the rest.
This is pretty much the definition of awesomeness
If you don't invest in a controller then prepare for a mighty figerprinted screen.
@MaxL
WOW! Really? But me never could has think that when touch then fingerprint at skreen :( me angry
@AA Alex
I was merely making a point.
douchebag.
@MaxL
While he was sort of a dick about it, your point was kinda pointless.
@MaxL
Me douchebag. Bad Alex, bad!
@jon
Not really. I wouldn't off said it about any other game accept for fighting ones such as tekken which are built on the foundations of button mashing. On a screen with no tacticle feedback your thump will be lickly be missing the right area and hitting another causing a larger spread of fingerprints unlike RPG's and FPS when you take time with finger placement
plus how can there be a pointless point, that way its just a less
@AA Alex
And the dicking continues.
+1 for Alex.
@MaxL
"plus how can there be a pointless point, that way its just a less"
Kinda my point.
As far as the fingerprints, it's a touch screen phone. It's gonna be covered in fingerprints, regardless of what you run on it. Everyone here knows that, pointing it out is a waste of points.
That was my point.
@jon
My friends Iphone is not covered in fingerprints and he plays games and such. With fighting games your going to add much more pressure leaving a more desnse fingerprint.
So its still not a pointless point.
@MaxL
Unless it's a 3GS with the oleophobic coating, I'm calling BS.
I've seen a dozen iPhones with fingerprinty screens.
It's the nature of the beast.
@MaxL
Not really, THIS AIN'T AN IPHONE. The HD2's screen repels fingerprints and the like (a sweaty face) way better than any other phone out there.
@TareG
*Terrible Jim Carey impression*
Reeeeaaaaaallllllyyy?
Sweet, another check in the plus column.
So what? I've been watching countless clips of flawless PSX emulation on the TG01 for many months already.
@TareG
You think iPhone fanboys know what is Toshiba? Even if they do, they wouldn't care. But if it's HTC that is when they get angry
Too bad this is a closed source program, this could be ported over other platforms...
Thanks for reminding me what a lack luster phone line up Sprint has lol.. Man I want this phone!
thats sweet plus the size of screen makes it even sweeter
Tekken 3 Rocked My World.
i think if they had some sort of easy remote dock for game control on these phones, its really quite crappy
however i think having controls around the sides that you could snap on would be pretty great
I actually own an HD2, and the screen gets finger prints on it just as easily as the iPhone.
@SarnGate
As easy as the 3GS or the 3G?
Different screen coatings and all.
PORTABLE PERSONA 4!
consider mind blown
@sinai
wait, psone? goddamit
I noticed a little bit of lag, especially when you notice Law's animation. Maybe the ram is filled up or something, but I remember Tekken 3 running faster. Aside from that, this is why Touch Screen only phones make bad gaming devices. Had the controls been visible - transparent or not - it would cover about half the screen. Maybe more. Had this thing run on something like the Touch Pro 2 with snapdragon(or even the Droid), playing this game would be more enjoyable. That's why I laugh when people consider the iPhone as a "handheld gaming device".

Been playing on my Samsung Omnia for ages.
i want an n64 emulator for windows mobile. If the iphone 3gs can do it so can the hd2.
Oh. My. God.
Beautiful...
It sure sucks not being able to get this phone from Sprint - EVER.
I don't care who you are or what you like but this is pretty damn epic!!!
Can I play Final Fantasy 7?~!!! If I can, it will kill the PSP instantly for me!!
@Plazmic Flame
seriously, how many times have you beaten FF7.. doesn't it going boring ...?
Awesome!
goddamn i would love to see some FF7 gameplay on this thing.
How do you tell what button you are pressing? What if I want to press triangle circle square at the same time?
This has been possible for over 2 years!
I've been running FPSEce .09.6 for that long on my iPAQ hx2490. I've got many games to run great, including Gran Turismo, MechWarrior 2, Hi-Octane, Driver, Destruction Derby, Battle Tanx, RoboPit, and many others. I need to overclock to 650mhz to avoid dropping a lot of frames, but they all are very playable.
Physical buttons make it a much nicer experience.
damn,, think i know what to do with da phone now :O
Anyone else freaked out by the way his thumb moves at about 0:17? @_@
Awesome vid... I was thinking about getting this phone, too...
Yup; I hope the HD2 drops in the US next month. I am wanting more and more every everyday.
Well, I got the HTC HD2 a couple of days ago and was really happy with it and thought it was far supirior to the Iphone accept for one thing. The sound quality is awful when playing music through head phones. Turn it up more than half way and the whole thing gets horribly distorted. This was that much of a let down that the phone is going back. I am disapointed that I had to, but playing music that sounds decent is important!
