LG Arena GT950 leaks out with AT&T branding
Looks like AT&T is about to get a version of the LG Arena -- these shots of a GT950 with the carrier's branding just hit the tubes. The phone hasn't been officially announced by either AT&T or LG, but the safe bet is that the 950 is just a bespoke variant of the familiar Arena KM900, so look for a three-inch 800 x 480 touchscreen with LG's S-Class UI, a five megapixel camera, GPS, Wi-Fi, and 8GB of storage. We'll have to see whether this hits at CES next week or MWC in February -- but until then you can get a feel for this thing by checking out our KM900 hands-on video right here.

and probably last ...
@amirmah With a 3 inch touchscreen display, 800 x 480 resolution display, 5 megapixel camera, built-in GPS, Wi-Fi, LG’s S-Class user interface and 8GB onboard memory. For sure this LG arena has some specs to flaunt but it's way to shabby to be called elegant. Details: http://bit.ly/lg-arena-gt950
Too much bezel damnit!
@Lando Calrissian 3 BEZELS!!!
@Lando Calrissian
seriously it looks freaking cheap... like a toy you buy at chinatown.
@amirmah
Catch on fire.
The arena is kinda old now had 1 of those around 7 months ago
That bezel is even bigger than in most chinese KIRFs
I was gonna say, it does give off that KIRFy vibe a bit......
Any word on if its capacitive or resistive? A screen that nice should be built well, then again this IS a dumbphone
I'm thinking this phone has a slide-out qwerty keyboard. =P
@TruUnknowN
You would be incorrect.
Complete with suspects fingerprint......
Has LG ever made a good looking phone?
@BowelMovement even if they eventually did, they would ruin it with the LG logo (yuch)
@amirmah
One gets the feeling this isn't the only time you have come first and usually, it is your hand left feeling disappointed.
Needs to be larger yet less screen..maybe use the excess room to put more AT&T logos...
does this have FLO TV?
I cant wait to see how att fudges this phone up by adding all their BS apps you cant delete and disabling some key features like they do on other phones they carry (im lookin at you SE C905a). Because the yellowpages app is so awesome and useful, way better than google maps /sarcasm
LG thinks that if they simply take the iPhone's basic design and add more features, they can outsell it. How many rectangular shaped touchscreen phones have they introduced since 2007?
@poematik14 indeed. That's a recipe for fail.
this phone looks like a whole bunch of crap to me
@HighestRanked your comments look like a whole bunch of crap to me
@HighestRanked
Seriously?
Are you applying to replace P.A. Chapel as Engadget's resident iJackass for 2010?
@LAY or shall we say Look_Around_You,
Seriously? are you saying no one is allowed to not like this phone?
You know what, your comment looks like a whole bunch of crap to me too.
Yet another lame phone for AT&T. When will they realize they cannot survive by the iPhone alone? What will they have to offer when they loose exclusivity on the iPhone? If this is the best they can do I will switch to another carrier even if I have to pay an early termination fee. Get some real phones AT&T!
The specs don't seem bad, the effects are over done with the cube, maybe that can be disabled somehow. Its probably the best camera phone att will have? Also, what about the web browser or on screen keyboard? Those 2 will be interesting and what about apps, like facebook or twitter? Will they have an app store?
I know it says 3 inch screen but all those different bevels and outer borders is trying to give the impression that it's bigger.
Deliberate?
The LG Prada was the first real finger oriented touchscreen phone. Since then they and most other companies have been trying to beat the iPhone. Doesn't any phone designer have any new ideas or is the iPhone going to be the best for ever? Why not something truly new like total voice control? Or at least a 4.5 inch screen which could still fit in a pocket if you leave off the bezels and embed the speaker and microphone behind the screen and on the sides for stereo output. Right now it looks like the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 will be the next great phone.
