ZOMM uses Bluetooth to tether you to your phone, your phone to you
Missing cellphones are a fact of life for forgetful folks, and while the 'ol "call yourself and hunt the feeble ringtone" technique works most of the time, some need a little bit more. There are plenty of software solutions out there, but ZOMM could be the perfect hardware option for any handset that supports Bluetooth. It's a keyring that tethers wirelessly to your celly like a headset, starting to buzz, blink, and chime whenever you leave the phone -- or the ZOMM -- behind. It will also alert you to incoming calls and even let you take them, acting like a disconnected speakerphone. Appropriately, the poker chip-sized device will be on display at CES this week, where there will surely be no shortage of misplaced handsets of all shapes and sizes kicking around.

I hate it when I think of a cool idea similar to this, and I find out someone invented it already.
A very nice device and useful.
I love it. I want one. $10 please?
@Ghen $70, I think.
@Ghen Check that...$79.99. Read an article about it last week here

so what happens when you forget both?
@nigra
If you forgot both you probably forgot your car keys as well. So your not going any where!
@nigra Why would you take it out of your pocket in the first place though; unless someone leaves it in their purse I guess. Maybe they should make one of these that's built into your glasses, because I always know when I'm not wearing those.
epic fail?
@nigra
If you forget both you can find them again twice as fast considering if you look everywhere you're statistically likely to find one of the two in 50% of the time as only finding one item. From that point it would be again trivial to find the other.
@possum5 yes you are
I might have to check this out at CES...looks kinda sweet
i just wonder how the battery life of my phone will feel about this =(
I love the idea since i lose my phone constantly, but i really hope it doesnt destroy decent battery life.
It'd be nice if it could go more than 3 days before needing to be recharged (according to their press release). And what's the price?
Next, it will be small enough to be implantable! Maybe a piece of jewelry?
@pachi72
Not really... sometimes you have a small phone, it may drop out of your pocket and you just don't realize it. My phone dropped out of my pocket while i was in my g/f's car and fell between the seat and center console. I was looking around the house for hours before I realized it might have been in there.
If anyone gets to see/use this at CES, let us know what the sound quality is like. I'm not expecting miracles but something tells me that the speaker in this thing is going to be completely inaudible.
I think they need a gold-sivler plate version that uses a Velcro like substance to attach to your chest; and would also be useful to find you for emergency beam outs
Looks like a Roomba.
@ch3burashka
There's an idea... Pocket Roomba!
Never suffer from pocket fluff!
The sound quality is excellent. I saw a demonstration by the inventor on Christmas. It will also dial 911 from anywhere in the world. It's fantastic.
