As an iPhone user that is impressive but as the article mentions they don't have as large a network as AT&T (which isn't saying much)...
AT&T should really get it's act together...it'd be nice to have a reliable 3G service. Even where I am I get dropped internet signals constantly. Phone calls once in a while.
I have the Blackberry Bold and i currently have 5 bars of EDGE. I dont thinks its the handsets, its the "NETWORK". I hate the fact i pay $30 extra for something im only getting 3 or 4 hours a day. Dallas is right up the street from me. I should be getting 3G all the time.
I have an HTC Pure, I know almost a dozen people with iPhones. I always, not usually, always have better signal and fewer drops than than they do. Seems like a handset problem to me.
I mean, since we're going by personal experience and all.
I het 4 to 5 bars of 3G where I am but it doesn't make a difference in that sometimes I go to different websites and it randomly cuts off and returns to the main screen.
Im a fruggle guy and if i feel im not getting my moneys worth out of something ($30 data plan)i get upset. Then again, it could be my Bold. Blackberry has treated me well but I think its time to change the scenery. Im waiting for my HD2 in the mail and then im jumping ship (ATT) as soon as it arrives. Pay my term fees and osta la vista..........Baby.
The Cobra Tag may help you win that losing battle, acting as a Bluetooth device that attaches to your key ring and connects to your phone, it gives you the opportunity to find the missing item if it's less than 30 feet away.

Just ridiculous.

Try a different handset, ATT's network has serious issues, but the iPhone's sub-par radio and unusual signal management makes a bad situation worse.

Ditto, I'm waiting, fingers crossed, to see if t-mob screws up their version of the HD2. If not, cash to cover my ATT ETF has already been set aside.
I thought about importing one, but I use too much data, no 3G is a deal breaker.
@ME2Adept
That definitely sounds like a handset problem.
Maybe take it to an Apple store if 'there's one in your area.
