I had read somewhere that Nokia N97 Mini will be coming to T-Mobile USA.. Does anyone know if that's accurate?
why oh why can't we have this on sprint?
@SuperMG Because Rudolph Hess doesn't give a flying fig about you or what you want.
I love how T-Mo is kicking AT&T's arse all over the place while AT&T is too preoccupied with Verizon to notice.
Let's see...T-Mo supports the G1, Nexus One, HD2, and N900 (even though they don't sell it, it still supports T-Mo's 3G), while all AT&T has is the locked-down piece of rubbish known as the iPhone. Excuse me while I laugh at AT&T.
Granted, I'm not a big fan of the HD2 or Nexus One (no keyboard, no sale), but they're still better than the iPhone.
I have two word for AT&T.......FUCK YOU!!!!!!! ‹^› ‹(•¿•)› ‹^›
By the way people one of the HUGE benefits and fun things about Windows Mobile is that you can customize all aspects of the phone.
On my T-Mobile Touch Pro2 I have been running cooked ROMs (custom operating systems) since September 1. The most recent has the HTC Sense user interface which is a hoot.
WinMo on this phone? That's going to be the hottest phone on the market. If people are saying that's BS, it's because they have not used a WinMo device runing version 6.5.1 or better. And I hear WinMo 7 is even better.
My TP2 is the best kept secret, on how great a device it is. Oh, and not that this is the best review, but Consumer Reports rated the Touch Pro2 the best smartphone on the market!
You can see some of my TP2 videos on YouTube. Look under YouTuber heartinsanfrancisco
MAGENTA!!!! WAY to FUcking BRING IT!!!!!!!!!!! 2010 IS the Year of T-Mobile Folks if you didn't know that already there you go!
I'm soooo Proud of the Strides you've taken lately and to tell you the truth you've really impressed me, I had no idea you'd get so much done in such a little time setting out to do it.
Bravo!!! I'm proud to be an Unlimited Loyalty Member!
I am LOVING my Nexus One that come this morning and since I bought that full price that means I have my DISCOUnt to use on my brand new HD2!!! You really just solved my problem of which phone to get, BOTH of them.
Have one now, eagerly awaing the next one! - D Great Exclusive to have btw.
Sigh, why couldn't AT&T get this, not that I have anything specifically against T-mobile, but given that they have no tethering plans and tethering is not allowed per their contracts it makes them a non-option, I wish they would just either allow tethering or heck even offer a $30 tethering add-on plan like AT&T, I don't care about paying for it, I do already with AT&T, so long as I can officially do it without the risk of them deciding i'm tethering when I shouldn't and hit me with insane data fees I don't care.
@sandra I think At&T will get the Xperia 10, I think. Which seems nicer then the Google phone, but damn I still like that HD2.
@stockjones
Unfortumatly the Xperia x10 is android not windows mobile and I don't care for android compared to windows, and even if it was windows it's HTC's sense flow that really makes the phone imo, sony's panel interface is very lacking.
Wow t-mobile is getting everything.
In other news, is it not amazing that with all the hoopla about the Nexus One, this far greater phone is getting ignored. I can only imagine what they could improve on with the HD2 with WinMo7.
@stockjones WinMo7 will probably not do much to keep itself from being steamrolled by Android as HTC phases WinMo out of its product lines.
If T-Mobile didn't have the reputation of providing horrible coverage, I imagine there would be a lot more people switching over to them now. I personally get great T-Mobile coverage where I am and find their customer service to be a lot better than the other guys. I can't wait for these phones to be released... but I can't pretend not to be interested in what Apple has in store.
The best part of this is no Android :)
So excited that this has Windows Mobile. I am so dropping my BlackBerry Bold 9700 for this.
Sidenote: HTC is establishing itself as the premier manufacturer of smartphones and cell phones. HTC is becoming synonymous with quality, albeit the G1 (that I bought last year and am now letting my girlfriend use) feels pretty cheap, an industrial, utilitarian kind of cheap.
It's the best out-of-the-box phone ever...
But I'm not sure about the apps... I mean almost all WM apps are designed with a Stylus in mind.. and they look hideou... and are overpriced...
I hope they develop the emulators that support multitouch FAST... someone's working on it now.
I live in the UK and bought the HD2 last month; it went back after two days. The screen is fantastic and it even has multitouch with pinch zoom but after about 2 hours of use I had three dead pixels on the screen. I got a refund instead of a replacement though as WinMo 6.5 on it is just awful, despite the Sense UI skin. It is clearly a hash of very old and new aspects of WinMo which don't fit well and as a consequence it is a serious mess, it is a truly frustrating and confusing experience to use. Trust me, the hardware excels (apart from the dead pixels I had) but the WinMo on it really is a deal breaker unfortunately.
@robdp101
Should have tried baking a rom on it, same impression I had of my tp2 at first now i cant put it down.
@robdp101
I found it very straightforward to get going with, but then I have used Windows Mobile in the past, and find it easy it get started with new devices in general. I don't really step outside of Sense UI and 3rd party apps very often, so everything looks very pleasing and if anything seems boringly straightforward to me. Web browsing at 800x480 with multitouch pinch zoom and opera is just amazing, and I can browse almost as quickly as I can on a desktop. The keyb is tough to get used to though - could do with some improvement.
@thunderbollock
Yes I agree, if you stay within Sense UI it is fine and web browsing is fantastic. I am very familiar with WinMo, previously owned an HTC TyTN II and Touch Diamond. On the HD2 it's just that the deeper you dig, the more you get in to the older system, and so it is like a layered patch up job and that wasn't good enough for me for such an expensive phone. I have an HTC Hero also so I guess I am now used to all the customisation available in Android and that's probably why WinMo feels so archaic and frustrating to me now, hopefully WinMo 7 will sort it all out.
Android on HD2? Not for a long while, I was scoping out Modaco and Xda forums and there's only a few htc winmo devices that is running some form of Android but there's still serious bugs to squash out. Its took them well over year to port what they got to the device. That's one of the biggest questions people have with the HD2 is if and when an Android port. If it does come around, I'm sure they'll be better phones by then and the HD2 will be an afterthought for an upgrade.
Supposedly the rumor mill says HTC has something with similar specs in store for Android. Maybe it'll be an HD2 with AMOLED screen.
Short Story: Don't hold your breath for an Android port for HD2.
A bad device with bad service. Great combo.
Cant you guy an unlocked TMO ph and use it w/ an ATT sim? Will you get 3G or will that be locked?
after u buy HD2, grab custom rom so everything will shine: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=531
the rumor is that this will also work w/win-mo 7.
any1 know if HD"3" will come out w/keyboard? i can't live w/o keyboard. no software keyboard i know is fast enough for my txting.
This hardware looks so great, why would they make it completely useless with WinMo?
@thumbtack : "This hardware looks so great, why would they make it completely awesome with WinMo?"
There, fixed that for you.
Sweet
Any chance this phone will Quad band and fully support ATT too?
why would they put a goods phone on a crappy network
phone is sold out lol
