Just in case you had any doubts,
CES is in full swing.
Kodak just blurted out a galleria of new goods, starting with the all-new Slice touchscreen camera (shown above). As you likely expected, this is the outfit's first touchscreen P&S, boasting a 3.5-inch rear display, a search function to sift through "up to 5,000" photos on the internal memory, a direct tag feature, 14 megapixel sensor, 5x optical zoom, built-in optical image stabilization and 720p (30fps) video capture. It'll ship this April in black, nickel and radish (yeah kids,
radish) for $349.95. Next up is the April-bound Pulse digital photo frame, which boasts a 7-inch display (800 x 600 resolution), integrated WiFi, 512MB of storage and a $129.99 price tag. Rounding out the bunch is a load of new EasyShare cameras (all detailed in the press release below), as well as a Playsport camcorder, which offers up waterproof 1080p action with electronic image stabilization, a 2-inch LCD, 5 megapixel still shots, smart face tracking technology and an SD / SDHC card slot. There's also an HDMI output and USB connectivity, and you'll find black, blue and purple editions shipping this April for $149.95. You're stoked, aren't you?
Kimbo Slice partners with Kodak to remove your eye.
Slice looks too good to miss out on ..
@Aziz S
I agree with you, kodak pulse digital frame is very good and amazing camera
looks like my next camera
Wasn't the EasyShare-One Kodak's first touchscreen + WiFi?
Is this like the one Tiger used?
I wonder if the image stabilizer will be any good on that "Playsport" camera
Have to admit, the Slice is a pretty sexy looking P&S. Looks won't be worth a dime though if the shots don't measure up. Here's to hoping.
I see they playing catch up to the Sony dsct90, dscthx etc. Kodak is so behnd touchscreen Sony point n shoot.
Anyone notice the smiley face on the left side of the camera!
@mitchsw kinda, looks more like an alienware face to me
Shame, it looked so sexy till I saw Kodak...
A nice looking touchscreen model-like the v1073, but folded optivs for the lens.
Kodak's HD pocket camcordrs are great-so it's nice to see a second water resistant model.
Kodak has no experience in making digital cameras - all of them is waste of money, compared with Canon. Moments are priceless, you can't justify wasting them, because you paid less for Kodak crap.
@arunas sorry, but you don't know what you're talking about...That might have been true 5 years ago, but they've been learning fast. Their last refresh had a couple very well received gadgets
@arunas I agree with Endless Ike. I have 2 Canon cameras, an IXUS70 (aka. SD1000) and a Canon HG10 camcorder. Both excellent units.
I also have a Kodak M1093 which takes some extremely sharp, vibrant shots and of course records in 720p @ 30FPS. It cost half of what my IXUS cost me and takes better photos and significantly better video. Build quality isn't nearly comparable but the features it has simply trounce the Canon (Kodak has USB charging!).
I love both cameras but I was very impressed to see Kodak actually do a decent camera these days. I actually have a much older 5MP Kodak which was our first digicam, huge unit that took AA batteries. Truth is that even took some excellent photos.
When money isn't an option, I'd go for Canon. If you want great value and still want good shots, the Kodak's seem to do a very nice job. Hell, do what I do and have some of each :)
@DAZA - thanks guys for the update. I have really based my opinion on cameras from few years back, will need to check some new models.
Anyone noticed a silver classic Kodak "K" on it as the Kodak logo.
@babya Yeah, I noticed that myself.
