French operator SFR hooks up with Palm

France just got a lot closer today to tasting webOS' sweet, sweet nectar on news that Vodafone-owned SFR has signed a deal with Palm to launch devices locally. Quoth the company's senior VP of brand and marketing: "We started negotiating for smartphones in Cupertino... we ended in Sunnyvale." Snap!

I live in France and i have an iPhone since 2007 and i think that France is the biggest market in Europe.
Only "Orange" (the biggest French provider ) could sell the iPhone for 2 years, thats what he is talking about :)

SFR is owned by Vodafone. It's been one year now that the orange's monopoly for the iPhone exploitation has been ended: there is now the tree main French operators which are selling it.

That would be nice for sure. I was sad not seeing the N900 neither the HD2 in the SFR's stocks, i had to purchase a 3GS instead... C'est la vie as we say.

Yep they sell since march i guess.
SFR assigned Orange on court to be able to do that.
French justice decided that the Orange excluivity was not legal so now they can sell it. But they are really late in the market...
