Imagine what it'll look like after a bag of cheetos ..
@garydahlsoldyouarockfor395
CheesEHHHHHHHH
No mac support would be a deal breaker for me. I hope they clearly list that out in the specs and on the box.
First i would like to say what a dirty screen. I guess they could use one of those new targus fingerprint resistant screen covers.
@Drago It's probably from all the ugly reporters who cake their face with makeup and thought the remote was a phone.....
What kind of battery life does it get? I think it'd be kind of annoying having to charge your remote all the time.
@midnightblade
I agree and would prefer that it had something like: http://www.ubergizmo.com/15/archives/2008/08/windup_remote_control.html
How long before they put android onto tv remotes?
Wow, they even made it appear more real by adding the cheetos & pizza fingerprints!
It looks like an iPhone.
@Scape3d
Using that logic a peanut can be said to look like a sperm whale's coronary artery.
@Esat Dedezade
Oh please. You know that looks like an elongated iPhone.
@Scape3d
it does not look like anything like apples phone
@pax copia
yeah it does... elongated with an aluminum strip through the middle.
@Red Rover here's the problem with what you said.
Phillips (when it was a separate brand) filed a patent case against norelco because they both made 3 ring shavers and phillips released one first. The courts dismissed the case because they ruled that there was no other way to make such a device.
a lot of things are going to look like the iPhone because that is the general consensus as to how a touch screen device should look like. if you give it a black bezel, then you're always going to cry apple. but a black bezel on a touch screen device is about as far as that design can go
hahahahahah!...STUFU what do you mean by where am I going with the remote?
To the washroom of course...I'm darn sure not gonna miss the touchdown while I'm in the shitter.
As far as I'm concerned...taking a shit with this remote is the only practical use I can think of for me.
@beuboy
Now we know what the dirty finger prints come from.
@beuboy
IDK, it seems like a very nice alternative to Picture-In-Picture. I don't see why people are ragging on this idea, it seems really cool if it's implemented well.
Wow! How soon until there is a remote for the remote?
I have no idea if this kinda thing is possible (total noob here), but....
Since this has wifi, would it be possible to use this remote as a phone? Could you hack this and use it as some kind of home phone (with Skype or w/e other alternative there is), since more and more people are moving towards cell phones as their main phone.
A remote and a phone in one (very sleek and stunning) device would be ultra convenient. I would give up my land line in an instant.
Who uses the TV remote. I immediately set up my TiVo remote to work with any new tv.
What does the scouter say about his power level?
IT'S SAMSUNG NINE THOUSAND!!!!!!
que merda sem graça!
I agree with an earlier commenter - I always toss my remotes to the side for a high-end universal remote. I still like the innovation here.
More importantly, how does the 3D look? Is the screen large enough to give a nice 3D effect? How does 1080p HD look? Were you able to flirt with the Samsung rep to get the quarter of release or the starting number on the price? I need more details!
how with all the innovating they still kept it IR. Make the remotes bluetooth already.
Why not have an app so your phone can be a remote? that seems more efficient, than anyphone can be a remote :D
Why not have this as an app for your phone so that it can also be a remote? that seems more efficient, and no one would worry about the phone getting lost in the couch!
@rlawlals there have been a few phones that hve done this. the htc mogl comes to mind first,
Don't like the design of that remote, I bet that if LG made one it would look 10 times better, not that I'm some LG fanatic but I know from their phones that they got some good designers.
I just had a awesome idea. What if you used facial recognition and embed a camera in a remote and use it to take a picture of your existing remote. Then auto look up that remote and make the universal look exactly like the remotes it is replacing.
Harmony and apple developers I'm looking at you.
