Kensington Wall Ultra Compact Notebook Power Adapter: more compact than your notebook power adapter
Schlepping a laptop into a coach seat is bad enough -- lugging along a fatty power adapter to boot is adding insult to injury. Kensington has got your back, or its trying to save it a little strain at least, with the Ultra Compact Notebook Power Adapter. It weighs 7.1 ounces with dimensions of 4.5 x 2.2 x 0.8 inches. Slinky indeed, and with adapters for most types of notebooks (Apple is notably absent), plus adapters for mini and microUSB, it looks to be very useful. There are two models, the $99 K38066US and the $119 K38067US, which also includes an adapter for use in suitably equipped airline seats. Jet setting with a full battery and a little more room in your man purse? It doesn't get much better.

why don't you charge your cellphone on the USB of your efiin' notebook?
@brrrain
I was thinking the same thing
@brrrain
What if you're using all your USB ports?
@brrrain
What if you you don't feel like powering your laptop up if you just want to charge your cell phone?
@scl23enN4m3
Disregard the extra 'you'...or just assume I stutter.
@brrrain
The USB port doesn't charge devices as fast as a wall outlet adapter. I'm sure it depends on the power requirements of the device, but I have a couple smartphones that will die if I'm using them while plugged into the USB port. Also, it takes a lot longer to charge the phone from USB even if the phone is off.
it wouldve been nice if it was also a backup battery for your portable devices
It would've also been nice if they put more thought into it.
like apple's cord control.
or dells rubber strap.
Power supplies are a mess to deal with.
@blackomegax
Agreed... no cable management, no sale.
Pretty sure my Vaio P has a smaller adapter.
I love Apple for making such an incredible MagSafe connector. But F-them for not allowing any other company to use it. $70 for a spare? No car option? No kensington tips for cool stuff like this? Throw your loyal users a freaking bone for once...
hahaha man purse.
"It's called a satchel, and I've actually gotten a lot of compliments on it!"
My Dell AC/Air/Auto adapter is actually smaller than this. And it lets me power my computer from a car's cigare--- i mean, power port or airplane seat.
Hm... 2 main problems for me with this one:
The cord to the laptop is built into it, providing a nice weak point for it to wear out at, and no car adapter.
So this will power a Rock laptop at full-tilt? I don't think so…
I'm a little disappointed that you failed to mention its power limit. Something that small is going to have to compromise somewhere. (Yes, I could follow the 'read' link, but this is pretty important information for a *power* supply)
Also, Apple may be absent because their 'power bricks' are already as small as possible for their given power rating (and have been getting smaller I've noticed, too).
