Lenovo IdeaCentre A300 and C310 hands-on
Given some of the more compact portables we've seen, world's thinnest all-in-one desktop is certainly debatable, but the curves on the Lenovo IdeaCentre A300 do give it an air of grace, as does the swivel. Throw in a clear screen and it's promising, but countering those kind words? Lots and lots of fingerprint-friendly gloss. We also got some time with the C310, which takes the traditional IdeaCentre all-in-one design and spruces it up a bit with a brown finish -- it's otherwise what you've come to expect, for better or for worse. Enough chit-chat, on with the photos!

its an iMAC
@rhezaganteng but its look much better than iMAC
Thanks LENOVO!
@rhezaganteng - it's an all-in-one PC. Beyond that, you'd really have to be near-blind to see much similarity between the A300 and an iMac.
@rhezaganteng i'd disagree coz Mac looks awesome in a metal finish, compared to the plastic finish.... let's see how this one performs
@rhezaganteng Lenovo says that the A300 is the industry’s thinnest all-in-one PC. With an elegant asymmetrical design that conceals the PC in its base instead of conventionally having the PC behind the screen, the A300 has a depth of just 18.5mm for its 21.5-inch Full HD LED panel. Indeed the IdeaCentre is challenging the Apple iMac in style and thinness. Details to go: http://bit.ly/lenovo-ideacentre-a300-details
I'm gonna have to see one before I know for sure, but it looks like it could be frustrating doing 'touch/multitouch' operations on the left side of the monitor if it swivels easily on that single right-side post.
But I know I'm not thinking of this before the designers and manufacturer, right? So it must already be accounted for.
@(Unverified) Oops, sorry guys! Seems I mixed up the models and their pictures, the A300 DOESN'T have a touch screen, so... potential problem of shifting screen "solved."
I really don't see why you'd ever buy one of these over an iMac. The iMacs are simply better in every possible way – including value for money. Even those who prefer Windows are better off with the iMac and Boot Camp.
@Samh
Because it is much cheaper and offers greater functionality. Why would I pay $1200 for imac plus $100 for windows 7 if I can get it all for $699?
Frankly after having owned iMacs ad Macbooks and looking at the PC/Laptops coming out now, Apple stuff is really overpriced. Let us not get started with the oft repeated mantra that Apple includes software as most of that software is for novices with half baked functionality.
@singsu00 I said value for money not that the iMac was cheaper. A 27" Dell panel that was reviewed on here awhile back (the same as the one in the iMac from what I can see) costs over $1000 by itself. When you look at a 27" quad core iMac being $2000 that is good value. The smaller models are also good. Even the lowest end iMac is going to have much better performance in comparison to this Lenovo. You also have to remember the level of fit an finish that goes into an iMac in comparison to this. Eg. Take the Magic Mouse vs the one that comes with this Lenovo.
Besides that, there simply isn't anything to compare to the top end iMac from any manufacturer. Can you like me to any other 27" 2560 x 1440 i7 all in one computers?
TBH, whilst arguing that Macs can do more is stupid, saying that Windows PCs can is equally stupid. Whilst a Mac can't actually *do* more it can do what its doing faster, more easily and in more style, and in doing so make this task accessible to more users.
Why can't the people at Lenova think of a better "Idea" rather than simply copying the iMac design???
@CommonSense Ridiculous. So what, now apple owns the all-in-one concept? This is completely different than the dumb LCD-plus-chin design that Apple has subjected us to with no substantive change since the G5. I have an iMac and like it, but this Lenovo is a hot looking machine.
I spy a fanboy
cool
Love the look. Loathe the half keyboard. They really pulled an Apple there.
Touch-screen?
This looks like a Chinese knockoff of a mac. I really wish these companies would come up with their own original ideas. I'm tired of everything trying to look like apple.
