MagicJack makes a femtocell, might make that advertising worth hearing
Femtocells now offer cell phone service for $1.70 a month with MagicJack! That's just $19.95 a year. $19.95 a year! MagicJack's femtocell works with mobile phones "potentially" from any carrier, though only GSM is mentioned. Apparently just coming within eight feet connects your phone to the femtocell, after which you can supposedly travel anywhere you like in the house. Calls through the femtocell won't use your minutes. Replace your phone company or get a second line, with MagicJack!

I guess I didn't realize you could connect to a GSM network from a GSM phone with no SIM (or the wrong SIM). Hopefully this will "motivate" the wireless carriers to make their femtocell offerings more competitive.
I'd probably give MJ a shot if they had a standalone device and didn't require a windows box.
Their site gives very little info on it. And their chat agents, even a "higher level agent" were not able to answer any questions about the femtocell. It's unclear whether it's built into the MagicJack, or if it's another device added onto it. Also, there's no carrier/phone compatibility data.
Isn't magicjack a device car-thieves use? sounds familiar somehow.
@Wwhat
Funny! YOu mean a slim-jim...
@Jose
isn't that something you eat/snap into?
@slamEVIL

I understand it doesn't work with Sprint or Verizon... so why bother.
