MSI shows off 10-inch Android tablet running new Tegra chipset
Tablet-ed out yet? We didn't think so. MSI has a 10-inch Android tablet on display at CES here. There aren't many details (like price, release date and internals), but we do know it's running one of those new Tegra 2 chips. Up front there's a pretty nice 10-inch capacitive display, which is plenty responsive. Like other tablets we've been seeing, the device is a bit thicker and heavier than we'd like, but hopefully that paves the way for some substantial battery life. We might still not know the "why," but the "how" is certainly coming together.

That is the most sexiest thing I have ever seen
@Exbloder
Someone needs to get out more often!
@Exbloder
Someone needs to watch some porn
@Exbloder Tegra is sexy.. So this is what Nvidia has been up to lately, Not to say that the Tegra opportunity is a needle on a hay stack, but I don't like the idea that Nvidia will stop manufacturing PC GPU cards in the future. Detailed point of view about Tesla and Tegra: http://bit.ly/tesla-and-tegra-what-are-they
@Exbloder
GIVE ME!
I seriously want something like this. I need something a little more portable when I'm the couch watching TV than a laptop
i'm amazed by all the tablet revelations...it's almost as if the whole industry has conspired to one-up apple before they show their product. long live competition and resultant lower prices for us consumers.
@Arpit
I think everyone is excited about these tablets, but still want to see what Apple comes up with.
Their gilded cage approach now has too many alternatives. It's not going to do anything revolutionary enough to corner the market. They'll probably come to market too expensive as well.
@Arpit
I'm with you on the idea that it's good to have all of these options, but... What I really want is something with the utility (read: keyboard) of a Lenovo X200 tablet that still keeps some of the sexy that these new slates have got goin' on. I just don't see anything like that being put forward.
I want a tablet, but only if it can function as my primary computer. That means having a keyboard in there somewhere. Can we make that happen? Kthanks.
Oh, yeah, and if I could get it for $1000 instead of $2500 like a good X200t or Latitude XT2 costs these days, that'd be peachy.
@Oghowie
Now this thing is looking way better, yes?
iPad is mega-meh.
like the idea, don't like the 21:9, this is an internet tablet, not a media player.
if only this came with that transparent display seen on the samsung laptop....
@(Unverified)
I couldn't see the transparent display on the Samsung.
Is multi-touch a given with these things or still up in the air?
Don't think I'd buy one without.
@Pingles
Probably without.
Honestly, how thin do you guys want these things to be?
Pretty soon, they are just going to snap in half or cut you every time you try and use them.
@Steve Jobs Jr the irony...
What do you guys think the perfect tablet size would be? I'd have to say a 10" 16:9 tablet would be just about perfect. What do you nerds think?
@Addyct I think 4.8" is the best, still fairly pocketable but a big enough and high enough resolution screen for elongated use
@Addyct I think a 24" tablet slate would be pretty cool.
@LloydChiro
I can't tell if that was in jest or if you are actually that crazy/stupid.
Put an Intel chip in there with Ion and Windows 7 and I'll buy one, otherwise no thanks.
@fatslug Ion is old, an amd neo x2 and a 4200 IGP is a lot better.
Very nice, but the size creates a loss on functionality on Redtube.
@Mr James
...and keezmovies.
I like it!
Why is Google and Microsoft trying to out tablet Apple before the "Apple Tablet" even comes out. If Apple is smart they'll stay completely away from the tablet business.
@TPAYNE87
What the hell is Microsoft thinking, bringing out tablets 8 years before Apple? Those copycats!
@LloydChiro :)
Imagine the nerve! Copying the Apple tablet before Apple can even officially announce that it even exists and tell them what an tablet is!
I'd prefer this to the iPad
Wow, a tablet that runs a mobile OS.....
I love this
I think this will be the best one out yet.
Even though it doesn't have 3g.
I want a tablet with infra red so i can control media! Please tell me the one that does that and has a good "night stand" wireless N and an 8hr battery life.
