Panasonic's 152-inch plasma dwarfs all who stand in its way

When we told you all about the new Panasonic 152-inch 4k 3D plasma we were totally guessing about just how big it would look in real life. So of course we all had to head over to the Panasonic booth and pose for shots (there's a few more shots after the break) to get an idea of just how big it is. As you can see the thing is just massive and while we'd love to have one of these, even if we could afford to buy it, it is very unlikely it'd fit in our living room. We're sure you agree when we say that those silly little details won't get in the way of our dreams.

You guys should chuck a PS3 at it.
@B3astofthe3ast That would be awesome!
@B3astofthe3ast
and film it in slo-mo
@B3astofthe3ast It would be amazing to watch a blue ray movie on it
@iluvms Blu-ray would be a step down in resolution for that screen, 4K means that it is 4000 lines of vertical resolution compared to blu-ray's max of 1080 vertical lines of resolution, This would be ideal for watching true theatrical release digital video.... Think Avatar in the newest digital 3D theaters...
coolio...
One day when I can afford 1.21 Gigawatts of power, i'ma get me one of these...
@jpxdude Back to the future, where we belong :)
@jpxdude
Don't worry, not lost on all. I saw the reference!
all of your electricity are belong to us!
@jpxdude I think I'll wait for Mr. Fusion
...How would you get this inside of your door?
@buri100 Saw it in half of course!!
@buri100 you wold build the house around the TV ... IMAO
@Jacob Apple Geek
Sawing it in half wouldn't even help
@buri100
It's about 7ft tall, it is just the stand which make it look taller
get 4 and throw on a roof.
@buri100
just get a bigger door
If I win the lottery, it'll be Me + 152-inch Plasma + World Cup in 3D this summer.
"CES. Technology you'll never have, but we'll tease you with it anyway."
@plastik
That would be so damn awesome
@plastik
Time to go Quik Pik
@plastik
If I won the lottery, I'd just go to the world cup.
@HotDog
touché
you mean dwarf as the guy standing next to it?
@va jj rofl
Holy plasma batman! That's one big Wii-mote target!
@Biomusicology
No problem. The sheer awesomeness of the screen will deviate the Wiimote away, and put it back in you hand.
@Biomusicology
I don't think you'd be playing your Wii on it!!! You'd see how BAD those SD graphics are on such a large screen. That would be a big OUCH if Wii controller ended up being thrown at that screen. I wouldn't even take a chance like that!!! I sure wouldn't let anyone else play a Wii in front of that display. I'd be like, How are YOU going to pay for a new one.
@JBDragon I think you're taking things a little too seriously (Queue "the Internet is serious business"). I don't think anyone with this tv would own a wii anyway.
might get one for the kitchen...
@Rod a woman?
...or the car...
@hyperspaced Hopefully not a woman...
If tv's had asses this one would way way touch junk in the trunk.
The problem is, if I get it for one of my kids, I'd have to get one for both and, really, that is just asking too much...
I'm having my one of my walls knocked out as we speak.
Seriously though, if you have to ask how to fit this in your house, then you probably can't afford it and probably don't have the space.
Man, talk about locating snipers in Modern Warfare 2. No man would be safe with that thing.
It's big but honestly I thought it would be bigger. Just for fun I would like to see them make a T.V. so tall I wouldn't even be able to touch the top.
Think I can use a standard VESA 200 mount from monoprice to hang this thing?
@busbeepbeep
This thing hangs the wall, not the other way round
Now smash that with a Wiimote....
this is really something big after a long time, watch the video of this plasma at - http://bit.ly/7rKrZh
Who would even buy this? Whoever they are they would probably need to install a new electrical circuit to get enough power to the room it's in.
@dicobalt
If you have a big screen HT the display device is already on it's own circuit. At least it should be,
I can't imagine the price Monster would charge for an HDMI cable to accompany this thing.
how much heatwave it generates? can it double as a fireplace?
screw 3d and plasma - i want a led lcd version
it would be interesting to find how much power does it require compared to a projector.
I expect its power consumption be defined as: All of it.
omg a stargate
given the dimensions of a 152" screen, it's kinda straight fw. decision to use projectors instead... plus cheaper
