Pleo returns to CES with big promises, bigger Pleo

Pleo (and its new maker Jetta) isn't exactly out in force at CES 2010, but the company is here with some promises about a new and improved second generation Pleo and, perhaps more importantly, a giant version of the current Pleo. Unfortunately, it's not for sale, and Jetta apparently doesn't have any plans to change that in the future, so your Kota triceratops won't be getting a buddy anytime soon. Jetta also isn't offering anything much in the way of actual details about the next generation Pleo, but it is promising that it'll be more than just a simple revision. In the meantime, feel free to take a wild trip through the world of Pleo in the gallery below.

Does this mean I'll get to see it in the ring head-to-head with a battlebot?
@prsiii
crap-gadget?
Pleo is growing up and not extinct.
I'm confused.. does the new pleo still have the giant camera on it's nose or did you take a snap of the old pleo as well. There are no relative objects to size the pleo and they look identical except for this camera

Wait, whatever happened to the "extinct" posts? Or was that another robo-dino that died?
Silly me. Right in the text, Jetta bought them out. Guess I did not read Engadget that day!
Why does no one see the market in toy velociraptors?
A Dinosaur with Barney style Hollywood teeth.
That isn't going to scare Battlebot one bit...
This is wicked.
As someone who worked on the i-SOBOT, I can say without hesitation that this will be a spectacular failure.
Finally !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't understand why silverlit isn't bringing an updated i-cybie to the market. With only a couple of changes to the electronics (like better CPU much more memory (upgradable using SDC, as it already has a slot which can also be replaced with an SDC slot)), and stronger gears and slightly faster motors.. The original i-cybie is almost 10 years old, and the newer inferior gears version is about 5 years old, so with current technology it shouldn't even be a pricey dog.. Hell, they could even add extra sensors like a very cheap low resolution camera..
