Crapgadget CES, round 5: Gimme Tunes

We had a lot of fun hanging with the guys at the Electro Joe booth -- they definitely love their crapgadgets. Our favorite was a little something called Gimme Tunes, a pair of speakers in craptastic high heeled cases. These guys are powered by USB, but the audio input is a classic headphone jack. "Gimme Tunes," the guy in the booth asked. "It's a pun. Do you get it?" Uh, no. "You know, like Jimmy Choo." Right.

FUGLY the new brand in DESIGNER speakers
@Spensar
I hope "the guy in the booth" reads this. What a dumbass.
I'm straight up insulted by this crapgadget. Gimme Tunes? More like Selling Poo.
Great, next time I'm walking down to landfill I'll put these on, saves carrying them!
Engadget fail at fashion!
Okay, yeah, they're ugly, probably low quality, and garish. But honestly, why all the hate? They probably cost less than 20 dollars, and they're pretty damn kitsch-y.
Besides, I don't think a company like "electro joe" is set to rock the music, or electronic worlds anytime in the near future.
How about you have a laugh, instead of RAEGing at everything?
@CJ: "How about you have a laugh, instead of RAEGing at everything?"
Because this is Engadget! Snarktacular center of the techno-cynical universe. It's just soooo im-freakin'-portant to be snide.
That's why.
Give me fuel! Give me fire! Give me that which I desire!
I dunno. I thought of that after reading the title.
@p0p0
Come on baby light my fire
Just the $6 t-shirt version of a speaker, not that big of a deal. It's actually kinda funny and not a bad gift unless the sound and price are horrible. No word on that, why? Try harder crap gadget masters.
Well, I guess it's better than what I initially had thought--that they had put speakers into a wearable pair of pumps.
Also, "Jimmy Choo" does not rhyme with "Gimme Tunes." Now pack up your pumps and quietly dissolve back into obscurity. I'm embarrassed for you.
@derX Ask the nice lady from the Chinese take-away to pronounce it.
Yes, FUGLY!
Wait so you are telling me if I want this ugly ass crap sounding shoe speakers I have to use BOTH a USB and headphone cable? Fuck that, no sale.
God damn it.
It's Jimmy Chiu.
And anyone who has ever visited Vietnam will love the 'how to make Pho' video
Please...if you feel the need to buy any of this garbage, just take the money and donate it to a charity and then hit yourself in the forehead with a brick. Maybe that will do you some good.
@BuddhaChu
asian pikachu?
@TonyMontana2367
Isn't that somewhat redundant.
not even Carey Bradshaw or Imelda Marcos would touch these...
If you don't like those try these

OH! I get it! The Gimme Tunes is like from
***ERR IN POST UPLOAD 4077***
basically standing for this is a piece of crap speaker. Clever!
Hahahaha!!!! I get it. Jimmy Choo makes women's shoes.
Actually, I was a little disappointed that I felt the need to wiki that.
Why didnt they call them Jimmy Chunes then? Come on idiots!
These would be kinda badass if they were wearable and played your theme song as you walked along...
They might/might not look nice as my main speakers for my home theater.
Actually Joseph, it was me you spoke to on that stand. I read the comments on all the blog sites with interest. Sadly you didn't like the products and thats fine. You're welcome to come and see us again obviously, we value your feedback but just be honest next time. Other bloggers and press were confident enough to give honest feedback to our faces, we don't bar people from the stand as we appreciate all the exposure you guys in the business give us.
A comment to YanivC, you can't be so obvious as to call a product Jimmy Chunes, there's legal ramifications there so the idiot comment is one that brought a very small wry smile :)
Engadget is still my first port of call when I want to look up products so keep up the good work
