Cyber Clean smears our keyboards, fills our nostrils as we go hands-on (video)
You know that snotty, slimy stuff that you can get in vending machines for a quarter? The stuff that comes in the little, clear plastic bubbles and stains wallpaper and carpet instantly? Ever wonder what would happen if you gave it a refreshing lemony scent and then smeared it into your keyboard? We certainly never did, but Cyber Clean gave us the opportunity to find out anyway, handing us (and nearly everyone else at the show) a sample of the stuff. How does it work? How does it feel? How does it sound when it's thrown at a camera and slimes the microphone? We've got the answers after the break.

I REALLY wanted to see it lolol
@Drybones5
YAY BACK ON :D
@Drybones5 adfewfcsafdssssssss
@Drybones5 Hmm, this just proves how useful is to READ.
Like that person was telling him, Read the Instructions. The package will tell you how to use the product and for what.
Their site clearly says: "Cleans cavities where conventional cleaners fail and kills germs". It is intended to trap dust and germs between the keys.
What your keyboard needs is some scrubbing with Clorox or something like that. I mean, geez, how long has it been there? I never bothered you?
I guess they were more interested into making a kiddy review about "looking me putting snot on my PC".
If anyone knows, where can I buy this?
@TikiTeko I went to a Rubik's Cube Tournament in NZ and the sponsor gave us free samples of Cyber Clean last year.
Elephanta Marketing was the sponsor: http://elephanta.co.nz/elephanta2/?id=197 and I think Cyber Clean's site is http://cyberclean.co.nz/
When I tried it I didn't just "press" it on. I used it to scrub the keys. It works well, but now I just try to use a keyboard with clean hands.
Tim.
@TikiTeko It's going to take a lot more than just Clorox to clean that. It's probably easier to just get a new keyboard and call it a day. Meanwhile, it looks like CyberClean would be good for cleaning the crumbs and dust from between the keys. My question is: is this stuff reusable? Or is it clean-n-toss?
@TikiTeko It seemed to work for Bit-tech too:

@TimMc I'm in NZ and I've been using this for a while now. I thought everyone in the world was using it..
@Anphaser totally, this was last decade & it's like Engadget just knew this product exists? the news are so aughties.
@Drybones5 Does anyone else think the Engadget guys have gotten totally full of themselves. Well, this review they totally blew it. This one has to be the worst Engadget review ever. They did not use the product properly and also did not do their homework. Everyone at CES is talking that this is the accessory product of the show.
I did look up some other real reviews where the reviewer actually spent time studying the product thoroughly. Check them out:

Engadget - you made yourself look foolish. Next time do your homework before you attempt to give a review...
I think we should all start to migrate somewhere else for real tech reviews.
By the way - I own the product and have been buying it from Radio Shack since August. it really does work. Josh is obviously not a clean person and I guess he should be the last person to review cleaning products.
@Drybones5 It works - I recommend it to everyone
Seriously Engadget? You're really starting to seem pathetic as of late. You don't even seem to comprehend how to actually or effectively use a product. I really like(d) you guys, but... you're starting to make me sad that I like you. I'm not sure where your downward spiral has come from, but... Please fix yourselves.
P.S. You guys are reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally nerdy. I mean pathetically nerdy.
@Drybones5 Quite AMAZING! I love you Engadget & Josh!
@TikiTeko
Well I personally thought this had been around for a while but apparently, I was wrong :-P
If you want to get this packet and a larger tub of it check a radioshack.
@liquidglass you can get this stuff at hardwares stores here in singapore , dammit you guys didn't use it properly! and cyber clean is not supposed to get rid of that thing that looks like fungus on your keyboard , got a container of it for christmas and it does a very good job of getting rid of dust , especially dust collecting on my PC's grills.
sadly its just a use and throw kinda thing , after a while of using it'll become ineffective so i only use small rolls of it at a time
@Review Rebuttal Totally agree. They were acting more like kids playing with Nickelodeon Slime than reviewing a cleaning product. Thanks everyone who gave the info on Radioshack - I definitely get one.

Engadget also owes us some serious reviews of phones like the LG Expo. You are becoming too much like CNET where Bonnie Cha comes and says how much she hates the phone she is reviewing because it is not the iPhone in 5 minutes. We have to be fair to all electronics and accessories. Equal Electronic Opportunity Act of 2010.
@Drybones5
How can i downrank this article?

You be on the first page and comment like thi.
OMG RAWWWWWWRRRR WTF ENGADGET, YOU ARE THE SUX0Rz. BAD POST IS BAD. BAAAAAAAAAWWW
@TikiTeko
It's readily available all over eBay, Bed Bath and Beyond, Home Outfitters and select Apple Store.
Funny, however, this product's been available in Europe for more than a year. I bought my first batch around CES 2009!
@TikiTeko
I've seen at RadioShack. They have both that packet and a tub of it.

Me too! Fix your vid ASAP! :)
@segers909 Oh it's fixed. That was fast :)
Can't watch the video, but looking at the pics, it doesn't work
@Goaliegeek Gotta turn off AdBlock for the video to load.
@mmlo
No you don't.
Is that really your MacBook Joshua ?? It's freaking disgusting :)
@hl2run
That keyboard might have the cure to H1N1 living on it. Or maybe the bubonic plague...
@TheLoveDr or some Topolsky family disease :)
haha damn dude. You need a new MacBook that's for sure.
@mtnDewFTW or a new keyboard..
@redman12 Or a cleaner that actually works.
@mtnDewFTW Or some hand cleaner.
@spamfree
Or Josh needs to just wash his hands after going to the bathroom.
@mtnDewFTW or after a Gold Rush in his nose.....
wow what a worthless piece of garbage.
BUT it could just be your nasty MacBook has some really bad funky stuff on it and not the stuff trying to perform a miracle on your keyboard lol
I bought that like a year ago...
@Dking7
And still not embarrased?
@rhesusplus it worked for me... and why should I be embarrassed of? of trying to keep my laptop clean?
@Dking7
congrats on being the 1st to buy a cleaning product...
@Dking7 I bought this about a year ago too and you will know as well as I do that it's not designed to miraculously remove sold, ingrained filth like that. It works great for me to maintain the cleanliness of my keyboard, removing dust, crumbs et cetera from between the keys. My packet says it "absorbs dirt and dust in cavities" and "has proven disinfecting properties". You need something else to clean that biohazard, Josh.
@Jub Banging your keyboard on the desk upside down also does this, but i suppose thats a little harder to do with a notebook.
@Winkins I would try that with my laptop, only I'd prefer if it worked afterward.
I think that laptop is beyond cleanable. That looks stained, not dirty. I'd say let some dust collect and see how well it works!
@jonathanp
I think that's what it's meant for, removing dust from hard to clean crevices. Not cleaning 3 years of funk off of a Macbook.
This could be a sex aid.
@Zinger314
He's a Mac user, so that would be iTouchSelf.
Like many things in life, its not mac compatible. You need iSnot.
@dds1043
No 3rd party cleaning products.
@jon it does not seem like it would be compatible with pc's either
