We've told you before how awesome
setting up a dual-band network is -- and in case you're wondering, it still is -- but if you don't want to set it up yourself, TrendNet's got you covered. Wrapping up 2.4GHz and 5GHz in a spectrum snuggie is the 300Mbps TEW-673GRU Wireless N router. Not much in the bells and whistles department, but sometimes working well is really all you need -- besides, how many more ways can the company claim the
"world's smallest" market? The price and release date, in no particular order, are February and $149.99.
Be cool if I knew what this all meant/was.
@Jake Root
My guess (educated of course) is that 5GHz and the 2.4GHz frequencies are packed into one line. No longer does it take two rooters or two different/separate frequencies to connect to a 5/2.4GHz network.
Basically, it's fast and it's easy to use. And it has a nice range.
I'm running a single 5GHz line through my house hooked up to a 20mb/s connection. I still want this.
@Special Agent Steve
I JUST bought a 2.4GHz one because my last router broke. :*(
*slit slit*
@Jake Root - It's just a simultaneous dual-band N router. Engadget is making it sounds pretty complex, but it's not - nor is it really anything new. You can look at the Linksys WRT610N or the Netgear WNDR3700 for other options.
I have the Netgear and it's pretty sweet, but be prepared for lackluster 5GHz range no matter which one you choose.
Eff, and all I have is a January. :(
Hopefully it comes out before $99.99.
I have Linksys WRT610N for like 4 months now, it is doing exactly the same thing.. What's so special about this??

@elibi
They've been out for waaay longer than 4 months lol, but I think this is in the "World's smallest" category, which probably makes it good for the niche on-the-go user....
@elibi
Yep, I have the same one at my place and I thought it was doing the exact same thing as well
@elibi - I don't think there's any difference, Engadget's just making it sound special. I guess it's the "world's smallest", but the Netgear and Linksys offerings in this category aren't all that big, nor do they have external antennas to deal with.
Nothing revolutionary new, but still, a new fighter in the ring. Don't you guys like diversity? :)
I actually em looking forward to this product. I have g and N devices in my household, so my current my TRENDnet b/g/N router only tuns on g... Otherwise the router is rock solid, so I wanted to replace it with an other TRENDnet. Looks like this is it.
@zoltano
Are you generally happy with the build quality and performance? Any issues with TREND's gear?
@MrBridge
I have the TEW-633GR. Works as a champ. Check TRENDnet wireless product reviews out on Newegg.
