Jawbone Icon Bluetooth headset leaked on Craigslist?
We know the rule of thumb is to not trust everything on Craigslist, but when an unreleased refresh of the cool-looking Jawbone Bluetooth headset pops up for sale, it'd be wrong to ignore it. HTCPedia managed to get cozy with Mr. Blurrycam and got a few shots of the supposedly forthcoming Jawbone Icon, which appears to don the same skin pattern as the Jawbone Prime but in a form factor similar to the original Jawbone -- quite an odd decision so we remain skeptical, but it'd be a welcoming addition for the market nevertheless. A couple of close-up shots after the break.

There are like 10 million versions of these things. What can they possibly make any better?
Let me guess, Monster Cable owns Jawbone?
@s2m0
I didn't know that 3 was a lot.
@clexman though i agree tat his exaggeration was too much but had to agree with the heart of his statement, Jawbone products do all look the same so what differentiates them from each other?
@s2m0, they can finally make one that fits (and stays) correctly in your ear so the rest of it stays against your cheek. Without that fit, the damn thing doesn't work well. Oh and like clexman said, there are only 3 versions, with this being the 4th.
@CowBell
He is exactly right. Jawbone is the best at reducing background noises but without the proper fit it will never work well because that one part won't touch your cheek. I finally got a Plantronics Voyager PRO and it is the best. It is so comfortable you literally forget it is their.
Its free too! The only bad part is that its main use was a very large part in a rather gruesome S&M ritual with me and 45 of my closest friends and no matter what I can't get the small off...
No I won't deliver or ship it.
They all look the same to me.
Wow the seller is like 20 minutes away from me. Too bad I don't care about bluetooth headsets.
who has an ear hole that big to fit this thing
@raaaaaa Dumbo :)
Jawbone Prime looks much better. Check out this video for more details http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bdsG_b_jH34
@tigertek its also crap. I LOVED my original jawbone and is sucks oyu cant buy earloops for it anymore. It was comfortable, fit well, and stayed put.
Bought a jawbone prime to replace it. quit using it, it is so damned useless. NONE of the earloops fit my ears, it rides my ear raw with the internal ear holder thingamabob (the one that doesnt require an earloop and grips on the inner part of your earlobe) and i have so many issues with it.
I am hoping this is real, becuase a return to the older form factor would be great for me. It actually WORKED
@CraniusLupus let me know if you really want the original earloops...i think i found my original box after a warranty exchange and it had the whole accessory box there.
I agree...I already had my prime replaced once since it wouldn't stay paired and then I couldn't put it in pairing mode. the new one seems fine but we'll see on the 2nd day of use
@clinio I would report you, but it takes too much effort now.
Their packaging reminds me a bit of blu-ray flicks.
The first two sucked. I hope they got it right with this one.
Cool looking? For the love of God don't encourage people to where these things! These things are a scourge.
@Diggitydank
as is your spelling. I know ppl have problems with "their/there/they're" but it's been a while since i've seen the "where/wear" guffaw...
Didn't anyone take 5th grade grammar?
@Phen Well spotted. I don't usually make that mistake and can only attribute it to lack of caffeine.
Hate it, too fat. I was happy enough with the jawbone 2 (in my ear now). I was looking at the Prime but being that's a year old I thought a new one was coming but if this fat POS is it keep it. It better have some awesome features for that size and fuglyness
Finally a mini-USB jack for charging. YES!
@landoncube Yeah why is it that mini-usb is not the universal charging port for phones, BT headsets, etc....I hate having a million different wires. Until everything is wireless. Give us a universal plug...isn't that what USB is supposed to be?
@landoncube That is a Micro USB cord... Notice the little teeth. http://gadgetophilia.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/mini-micro-usb-connector.jpg
@DAZA Yeah....the comment system isn't really any better.
The only thing that's fixed is the ranking system. Other then that. It sucks. Why can't they listen to us and add an edit button?! Sigh.
I'm done ranting.
I will NEVER buy another Jawbone product after they screwed me on a Jawbone 2 warranty when the sound started getting all buzzy and unintelligible. I'll stick with Plantronics from now on - great headsets and I can trust them to honor their warranties.
It is indeed a welcoming addition for the market. There is downside in any gadgets.
I got a Jawbone Prime for Christmas - Lets start with the ear loops - UGH nothing small enough to fit me. Then there is the proprietary charging solution. (Why not just use Micro USB like everyone else on the planet? It is UNIVERSAL after all) In the end I found the best a $30 Jabra (black Friday deal) fits me perfectly and is loud enough to use while driving. Plus it is SUPER light and small. Jawbones just look like you are trying very hard to be Uhura.
A lot of hate for the Jawbone here. I love mine! It changes the way I use my phone - answering calls in situations otherwise too loud.
The sensor must touch your cheek for them to work well, which explains the love/hate opinions. I'm lucky enough to have an ear in which the new loops fit perfectly, so it works great for me. This is the first headset I can use without an over-ear loop.
For the record, I don't condone wearing these things all the time. For when I'm on the phone while driving, typing, etc, it's the best thing!
I've seen the headsets in person and the headset is very much a hybrid of the first two jawbones. It's fatter than the jawbone II but also shorter. The overall ratio of dimensions are more similar to the first jawbone. It also comes in two different designs, one shown above, and the other has a much more polished shiny look to it, much like those of plastic jewelry. Now, on the box it says that it is capable of being paired to multiple sources. I haven't been able to test if that means one at a time, or multiple at a time, but I don't think the folks at Aliph are so ignorant to boast the capability to pair to more than one device at a time. So I remain hopeful that I will be able to pair both of my phones to the headset. Sure beats looking like an idiot with bluetooth headsets on in each ear.
You know what always bothers me? It's the fact that when some of these supposed "leaked" product images show up, parts of the image appear to be of a different resolution and pixelation than other parts of the image.
On the first two pictures, where it says 'Jawbone with Noise Assassin", it is obvious that it has been Photo-shopped in (and poorly done I might add).
The text is a different pixel resolution than that of the images behind it.
