The 2009 Engadget Awards: Nominate the Smartphone of the Year

Nominating is easy, simply leave a comment with what you're nominating for this category. We'll round up the best selections and put them to the popular vote.
Here's five simple rules of what NOT to do:
- Don't include your reasons for nominating it.
You can debate the product later when we put it up to vote. Just leave the name of what you want to nominate, ok? - Don't nominate anything that wasn't sold for the first time in 2009.
We will allow updated versions of previous devices, however. - No concept devices or prototypes.
It has to be a real gadget people can buy! Pre-orders don't count. - Don't nominate anything more than once.
It's not a popularity contest (yet), all it does is make our lives harder. Just do a quick find to see if someone's already beat you to it. - Seriously, don't nominate anything that's already been nominated!

iPhone 3GS
@flow
Seconded!
@flow
Agreed
@flow I third the 3GS
@flow yeah, not so much. I love my iPhone and it has an unparalleled array of apps but the OS is starting to look old because it hasn't had any major aesthetic change or any huge feature changes (app store excluded) since it was introduced. Sure, the iPhone has transformed the industry and has continued to become more and more popular but, frankly, that's old news and I could've made the same points for the iPhone last year at this time or even, arguably, the year prior. I feel like multitasking, synergy, and less of a plain-jane OS is where Apple will be headed in the immediate future -- oh yeah, that's exactly where my vote's going this year.
@flow

Nominate it 101% (and I only have an iPod touch). Like it or not, it's now the most well-known model of smartphone on the market. It's becoming the new poster boy and standard for phones as a whole, in fact. +1!
