Windows Mobile 6.5 fever: catch it! AT&T had the good fortune of releasing the
Tilt2 late enough to get 6.5 out of the gate, but the other guys have been falling in line ever since: first
Verizon, then
T-Mobile, and now Sprint's getting in on the action. The bad news is that they're only committing to a vague "by the end of first quarter, 2010" window at this point, but the great news is that this appears to be more than a simple 6.5 bump -- Sprint says that there'll also be "significant enhancements to the Touch Pro2 user interface which will allow additional customization / personalization options and more integration with the applications users access most." We'll take it -- and actually, why don't you just go ahead and make it this mysterious
6.6 while you're at it, guys?
Sweet!!! ...Finally!
Yes, I know, and have in the past availed myself, of the labyrinthine XDA Developers, HoFo and PPC Geeks, etc. Problem is, when the phone breaks... and ultimately most do... you have potentially voided your warranty/insurance coverage. And, before you say it, NO, you can't always reverse install back to a stock ROM. I've had two touch screens fail (TP1) without warning... and from that point, changes were not an option.
So, having said that, bring on the carrier approved software! Huzzah!
Currently have the Pro2 and like the phone, upgraded from Touch PRO
Contacted Sprint, HTC and have not got answer for the problem with Phantom Dialing. In fact HTC told me to go onto the BLOGs and see if a third part software was available. SOME TECH SUPPORT! When you have finished a call Blue Tooth in particular the phone will just randomly call someone you have spoken to or is in your contact list. Not necessarily the last caller. The other day it found a number and dialed it of someone randomly off my contact list. The problem appears to be recent call list on the sceen above the touch screen key board which stays active and when the phone is in your pocket or in my case the HTC belt case this occurs. Hopefully someone has an answer for this other than locking the screen and unlocking it to place a call.
