Better, but certainly not in the Sprint/T-Mo ballpark.
@MRCUR
Right.
You can get unlimited talk/text on T-mo for $30 cheaper than that... Heck, you could even get unlimited talk + text + web for less.
@Butler
Well, how's your coverage and service? Crappy? You pay less to get less. Have fun with mediocrity!
@shadowj0 - Surprisingly, I've had the worst luck with Verizon in my area. Extremely slow EV-DO, calls drop, and plain old lack of service. AT&T is okay, but their 3G isn't fast or reliable here. I haven't heard any complaints about Sprint or T-Mo though...
@MRCUR
Sucks to hear dude. I was honestly concerned with people who don't have Verizon - they're missing beyond-great coverage and service. Sure, the iPhone is not branded red, but still, a non-working iPhone is worse than any phone in Verizon's lineup. Sprint is a close second, but its customer service is beyond-crap. TMo's service is average, not great. I have no major problem with TMo. Since I have Verizon, and have had it for a while, I have had no problems. Verizon has great coverage in Houston.
@shadowj0
VZW fanboi-ism...yay.
Fortunately for VZW people, GTW was already well-built in Harris County and TX from what I can tell. I don't recall any problems with T-Mo while in Houston and wouldn't expect any since they've been there since Aerial/Voicestream/restathose.
However, coverage differs for people in different areas. Just comparing coverage national maps and saying "but look, your coverage sucks" isn't really a good way to determine which is a good service to use. It's where you are and where you plan on need to go and retain use of the phone.
VZW definitely beats my T-Mo coverage here in NYC, but not enough so for me to justify paying more for it.
@shadowj0 Actually, here in Southern California, my service is great. Never dropped a call...ever. I always chuckle to myself when I'm on the phone with my roommate (verizon) and his call drops, or when my friends with sprint tell me they just got the text message i sent them over 20 minutes ago... It seems like AT&T and T-Mo are the only way to go... GSM FTW
@shadowj0 - My dad actually had Verizon quite a while ago and jumped to Cingular for the RAZR (remember that? the phone that changed the world?). I always hated using his cell from VZW, it just never worked. Once he got the RAZR it seemed to be much better. He got me my first cell a little later and I've been pretty happy with AT&T since.
I actually just ordered an unlocked Verizon Storm2, so if in the future I move to a Verizon happy place, I can just activate the S2 and be done.
