Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"We need a digital camera that can be switched on and fire off that first shot fast. It's not a commonly tracked statistic on any review site, and nobody seems to have this information for every camera. We were hoping other readers could inform us as to what small digital cameras can fire off their first pics in under a second (ideally under half a second). It needs to be small, but mostly, just really quick in operation. Thanks!"

You would be better off comparing the n900 to something along the lines as the Moto Droid.
Owning both a Droid and an n900, I would say that those are probably the two to best compare against each other right now since they both have the same base form-factor, both are using fairly newer operating systems, and both have a shitty assortment of 3rd party applications.
IMO, the n900 blows the droid away in functionality. But the apps are pretty much non-existent for the platform. Just hoping that more developers jump on the Maemo bandwagon and port/create new apps for the platform, because the OS itself is amazing and runs circles around the Android OS.
@N8D
Luckily N900 has a framework that is already very familiar to many developers. The openness is probably going to cause a bit of a problem for all the DRM fans though.
@Rev Yeah. I am more worried though about a lack of developers seeing Maemo as a platform that they would want to spend their time on, compared to thinking that the other operating systems would be more beneficial.
Don't get me wrong, there some apps out there right now and there will be more that will come along. However, being that most people who use the n900 are going to be "geeks", I don't think that we will see as many "consumer" apps as we do on other platforms, but rather more geeky type stuff.
I am sure that eventually a twitter app will find it's way along with a facebook, google maps, etc. But you probably will never see like you do with Apple or RIM or Android where you could have your choice of several applications for the same services.
