To everybody who still say that you better use your TV speakers: read a few review of the Yamaha sound bar product line. they sound fantastic, do a great job in 5.1 sound.
don't make these stupid comment on something you've never heard or read of before.
@dpitton Actually, Yamaha's YSP's don't 'emulate' 5 channels. The Polk sound bar 'emulates'.
ie, turn your head listening to the Polk Sound bar, and the sound from the corner is gone. (psycho-acoustics)
Turn your head with a YSP, and you still hear sound coming from the corner.
the amount of times i have heard these YSP's i would say they can produce separate channels at: 3 and 9 O'clock pretty easily. 4 and 8 O'clock are not uncommon, provided they set up the unit properly. 5 and 7 O'clock are unlikely though. unless they have the perfect room and professionally set up i haven't heard anything come from here. As for 6 O'Clock... well i don;t think Yamaha has ever claimed they can get there anyhow.
The new FiOS HD DVR, arguably the biggest update since Verizon released a DVR, thanks to its external storage support, enhanced multi-room functionality and slick new 16x9 HD user interface.

@Robert Mechum
What do you mean by "they can't perform 5.1 sound"?
Aren't these soundbars specifically designed to support and emulate 5.1 surround?
