We didn't run into too many problems with the existing Mac software for the Wi-Fire WiFi range extender in our
brief time with the device, but it looks like hField Technologies has decided to make Mac users' lives a bit easier nonetheless, with it now releasing an updated version for OS X. Among other things, version 2.0 now finally includes an icon that sits in the menu bar for easy access, and fully revamped connection manager that sports a decidedly more Apple-like appearance. Unfortunately, you'll still have to wait a bit for an 802.11n upgrade, but the software update is at least free, and available to download right now.
Adapater?
Adapater
Adapater
Adapater!
The first comment that is not about adapater.
@Nitesh
But, it did contain the word 'adapter', so theoretically by saying it wasn't about adapter made it about the adapter, turning your comment into a conundrum.
@Professor Hubert J Farnsworth Who says we are talking about adapters? ADAPATER!!!!!
Still no 802.11N = Fail.
Hmm. I wonder if mine will actually work now. Doubt it.
Why would they make it MAC only ? seems like it should be able to work on a Win box as well...
@lowspeed
Technically, it has to be MAC only. Otherwise it wouldn't work on Macs or PCs. They just upgraded the OS X software, but they list this as being compatible on Mac, Windows and Linux.
Oh, and look...a URL!

Thanks for giving us the URL for more info.
Seriously, WTF is up with not giving lazy clickers a clicker to click through to the source or website where you found this?
url. Url. URL!!!!
When will they make it for Linux? It looks like it would be a lot more useful. You could remove a lot of those locks for starters...
Even with "low-range" regular WiFi I have 11 (eleven) networks available with good levels in my flat. And they are interfering with each other -> no good. What for I need extended range adapters?
We need a shootout between the Wifire and the AirBears.
After 3 months, and 2-3 hours with their tech support, mine still doesn't work on Windows! Pretty frustrated, though they say new PC software will come someday soon.
