Reminder: nominate your favorite gadgets in the 2009 Engadget Awards!
We know it's a really busy week, but we wanted to take a moment and remind all of you that there's still time left to nominate your favorite gadgets of last year for the 2009 Engadget Awards!
For your voting (and nominating) pleasure, we present the sixth annual Engadget Awards! The premise is simple: 2009 may have slipped through our fingers, but all the memories of gadgets-past are still with us (some in a more favorable light than others). Here's your chance to sound off on what you loved in 2009, and tell us what you're psyched about for 2010.
This year we've got 24 categories up for grabs, with 48 total awards to be decided. All finalists for Engadget Awards are reader-nominated, and the editors of Engadget will then select the best of those nominations (usually somewhere between 4-6 devices or technologies) as finalists.
There are two awards per category, Reader's Choice (voted on by you!), and Editors' Choice (selected by us). The vote will take place in a few weeks once the nominees are picked, and winners will be announced shortly thereafter.
You can find all the info and nominees on a landing page we've built this year which should make it easier to get all your selections in (and vote once we've picked the finalists). Just click right here.
You've got until 11:59PM ET on Wednesday, January 27th, 2010 to get your entries in. Now, go nominate, or use the handy list after the break!

@OCEAN CLAK Thanks for the links man! :)
Let's see... I bet iPhone 3GS will win all categories. Even the ones not related to it at all.
@(Unverified)
i don't think so, buddy..
@(Unverified) lol its like you're asking to get ranked down.
@(Unverified)
Yeah it always does, for whatever reason :\
Please don't freak out when the iPhone wins at least 1 award
@yulebellow
As worst gadget of the year?
@Steve Anthony Ballmer Oh Ballmer, go work on WinMo 7 some more.
@yulebellow
I will be pleased to accept the award for the smartphone of the year. After all The 'S' in the iphone 3GS obviously stands for Monster Cable.
I saw this thing where u can start ur car with ur iPhone. There is a translator that talks the translations back and fourth. U can communicate with people who don't talk English without learning another language. iPhone 3GS probably is up there.
Droid does.
Do try to remember that the impending Apple tablet is a 2010 device regardless of when we first heard the rumors.
In terms of portable music sound quality the Sony X series... Easy... And don't give me any nonsense about apps please.. Grow up!
Would you guys please have some decency and move the date up to tomorrow night? You know how many mac fanboys are going to pick the iSlate/iPad/whatever even though it didnt come out in 2009?
@astyanax I guess any votes for an Apple Tablet will just be null and void. People stupid enough to vote for it (because its 2010 and not 2009) should lose their vote anyway. :)
You mean a: "I own a ... so I vote for the ... " contest?
@(Unverified) What? People buy what they think is the best product? Noooo....
@(Unverified) Don't be a smart ass. People buy what they like, so they will vote for it.
Viewing the comments for each category, one can predict the winner of the majority.
Oh good, just enough time for fanboys to make a sweep with that impending apple doohicky.
@Dshark Actually there can't be any votes for the Apple tablet because this is best of 2009 and its now 2010..
@ werty1432k
I invite you to consider the name "fanboy".
Now take a look at what was said, and tell me if you honestly the average rabid-for-companyX really knows or understands?
hmmmm the HTC HD2 has to win for best phone, and samsung LED tv's should definitely get an award also.
@JustThatNerdyGuy Yeah the HD2 is a an awesome, awesome phone but you know what will win..
Where's the software category?! as much as i hate microsoft, i wanna nominate windows 7. it has earned my grudging respect.
Lightpeak?!
@Jon Rubinstein
The Palm Pre smartphone rocked CES (Computer Electronics Show) in January 2009. It was the most Tweeted cell phone product of 2009. It was then released on June 6, 2009. And by year-end, webOS 1.3.5 provided support for OpenGL 3D gaming on December 28, 2009, the culmination of nine major updates to webOS (operating system) in seven months. Impressive!
Whatever happens, 2009 was a good year for Palm. Congratulations to Jon Rubinstein and to all of the staff at Palm. I saw it (the Palm Pre), I bought it (at Sprint), and I used it (the “Need for Speed” 3D game), and it (the Palm Pre) delivered! Thanks’ Palm!
Definitely Zune HD
