Apple rumor roundup: 'the day before' edition

Moving on, we've got even more whispers that publishers -- with the NYT mentioned specifically -- around the globe have been getting wind of this thing as the suits in Cupertino attempt to nail down content deals. Broadcast Engineering even has a piece that straight-up states that Apple was "was in New York City last week showing the tablet to media companies as a new way to sell books, newspapers and other reading material through its iTunes online store." Still not convinced? NetbookNews has an apparently ongoing article about the authenticity / non-authenticity of a Media Markt tweet that "accidentally" leaked a supposed €899 price point for the device, while Hot Hardware switches things up and reports that AT&T will lose its iPhone exclusivity during tomorrow's event. Oh, and the very first hands-on review of the Apple tablet is also live (courtesy of Mosspuppet), while yet another hotly contested image has arisen to perch atop these very words. Phew.

I am so tired of the predictions of what will be announced tomorrow.
Why can't we just move on to the list list of all the predictable complaints of what Apple did not provide?
You know, like how journalist already have obituaries already written for all major living celebrities? Well I bet you already have your post-announcement articles mostly written already, right? Why don't you share those drafts with us NOW?
Hey, Engadget, how about a contest to see who can pre-write the best (and/or most accurate) post-Apple-announcement article?
Can't wait for ATT to lose iphone exclusivity. Quit crowding my network, fruit people!
€ 899 = $1,260 USD..... umm....the fack? Hell no. This should cost less than a macbook
I think it is funny that they say "the day before" when they probably already have the thing fully reviewed. Just like they did with the last slew releases of ipods.
Jesus Christ, the only way not to see this massive tablet circle jerk is to remove Engadget completely from my feed.
I am afraid of what is going to be in the feed tomorrow and for a month after that...

REALLY !!?? COOL !! Will Apple be selling THAT content on a new tablet??? I CAN'T WAIT!!! :)
Listen up guys..
Apple have a very successful brand in the iPod, so why try and create a new one? When they released the iPod Touch, they didn't think it necessary to invent a new name, despite it being a whole lot different to what we knew as a traditional iPod.
So, I would imagine this new thing will be called.....
iPod Tablet.
Done.
@LoganPhive
No...
They specifically refer to this device as Apple's 'New Creation'.
With that said, the name will be iPAD, which is reminiscent of iPOD, but just different enough to show that it's a 'new' kind of device.
As everyone comments on the poor photoshoppery, may I point out the obvious problem with the image. OS X cursors are BLACK ARROWS not WHITE like Windows as it is in the pic...so answer me that!!
@Loru
You are aware that there are several applications that allow one to tweak many elements of the OS X interface like color schemes, icons, cursors, etc, Yes?
Note: Just because Apple ships it that way, doesn't mean that it MUST be that way. "Think Different'
What would make AT&T losing its "iPhone exclusivity" perfect would be Apple not telling them about it in advance and just smacking them with it during this event.
More fuel for the iTablet rumour mill http://www.brandwidth.co.uk/

I predict that no one will apologize for being completely wrong or for passing off unsubstantiated rumor-mongering as journalism.
I think it would be outrageously funny if there is no tablet revealed tomorrow.
Take this for what it's worth:
- 9.7 " Screen
- Haptic Feedback
- Awesome Hand Gestures
- Multitasking (Background App)
- Finger Print Login
- Slightly Arched Keyboard (keys actually look 3D and pop off the screen)
- V conferencing
- Solar Power (Hybrid)
Have fun tomorrow
Where can I find that desktop background?
Look ugly enough to be an Apple Tablet alright.
@Steve Jobs Clone if you think apple's products are ugly then you probably should consider some psychotherapy and lasik!
@Steve Jobs Clone
there is nothing visible except the screen itself :)
if it looks like what is on that macbook.ill drop a 1000 in a instant.
not a tablet. iPhone XL or somethin. its on Verizon
I just can't wait to get my hands on this thing. At this point, I really don't even care about the rumors that are popping out of nowhere. I just want to see the damn thing.
well the event is almost there and so the fakemaker show off:
