@evo333
i couldn't agree with you more. It would not replace all my gear either. And I can see already where it would fit in my lifestyle. I got plenty of tools to work/ play with between my iMac, my MacBook Pro and my iPhone. Nevertheless, there are times where the "in between" device would be more than welcomed. Casualy browsing the web on a full laptop is, to me anyway, often almost unergonomic, as I often just read blogs and click...Having a device that mimics a book for surfing the web makes more sense.
@evo333 get ready to double pay for more "unlimited" data access to your already "unlimited" data plan iPhone subscription and collecting a whole bag of iPad only dock accessories at $50 each because apple astutely thought not to include any of the usual connections
@FLee Pretty sure in the keynote, he specifically noted the 30 pin connector, and that it was compatible with all other iPod 30 pin accessories as well.
@Mikelite Yeah, 28:22 in the keynote. One would assume running the iPhone OS, and having the same connection, the accessories would be cross-compatible. Time will tell.
There is still 60 days until the release so they still can change some stuff. Also I think many new things will come in an update. Remember we didn't see the app store until a year after the iPod touch release.
This just in.
Apple's much touted rocket blows up on the iPad.
News at 11....
@the bandit
why bother to buy anything at all since everybody is constantly improving on their products.."I don't like changes, it's different"
Btw, what is the device you are using to type your comment and how old is it?
I'll buy it if it gains the following:
Multitasking
USB 2.0
Flash Player (I can plug it in)
Other than that great product, keep up the good work!
Wassup Steve? Can you please wear a set of clothes that fit you? We all want you to feel better, but c'mon, you are representing your company. A little class with the snake oil. Other than that you did a great job of describing a mediocre device that early adopters will complain about for months on end. But hey, it shows pictures!
what's wrong with the video, can't see anything (only audio)?
@Arahanto: I can't even connect to akamai.net. Thought they would able to cope with Apple events by now, unless it's something unrelated.
I'm buying one and it'll be great, just like every other hardware I've ever purchased from Apple.
Ok little kids... hate away. Engadget=troll bait.
29:39 - Even Steve Jobs calls it an iPod.
At about 29:30 in the video Steve said iPod instead of iPad. Anyone notice?
Apple changed the demo video of iPad inside this Apple event video.
Take a look at 1:23:10, the iPad doesn't show the flash in the NYTimes web page.
It is also weird that this revised video is out of sync...
