The
rumored desktop dock for the
Nexus One has been made official today -- conveniently (and accurately) bearing the official name of Nexus One Desktop Dock -- running $45 sold separately or bundled with your phone purchase. As expected, dropping the phone into the dock triggers the Clock application to fire up to give you access to alarms, music, and weather (not unlike the
Droid), but the special sauce lies out back where you'll find a 3.5mm jack that connects to your stereo system using an included 3.5mm-to-RCA cable. A charger's included to keep the phone topped off while it's resting in the cradle, too, and considering the
presence of Bluetooth here, we're guessing audio is ferried via A2DP rather than a hardwired connection. Technology! The dock's available right now for purchase directly from Google.
Yay
Where is the car dock? how about a carrying case?
not vertical AND cant connect to a PC ??
whats a disappointment.
When is the Nexus One coming to Verizon again?
I get this, I can replace my phone, my alarm clock/radio and finally haven an excuse to make those bluetooth speakers.
@ChaosEntity you're going to enjoy it VERY much, the Nexus One is a Fantastic phone.
Waitasec..this dock has Bluetooth? HMMM, do I sense potential haxx0red sync capability??
Google has to be frigging kidding me....
Is that a dock in your pocket or are you just happy to see me.

"Never connect this dock to a computer"... fail! The droids dock pwns this. Landscape is better than portrait and I can transfer files over USB. This is more of a Bluetooth adapter for your stereo than a dock. But hay to some this maybe just what they want.
finally! Placing order now!
Placed my Order, now if they'd just release the car dock that's what I REALLY want, it'll be so much easier to use the Navigation that way.
Soon I imagine so I shouldn't have to wait long.
Looks cool but it would be cheaper to get a charger and an RCA/headphone cable and make a paper clip stand ;) ... And yeah, the car dock is the one I'm really waiting for.
Seems useless honestly. The Android music player leaves a lot to be desired. Portrait clock sucks. And the Nexus One leaves the softkey lights on fullbright when you put the clock app in sleep mode, meaning if you try to use it on a nightstand you will get a bright night light.
And they want $45? No thanks. Car dock please.
