Apple has a long term goal for the iPad, they have the best tablet pc out before everyone else.Later they will add other features just like they did on the iPhone

I do wonder if the IPS screen is any better than LCD for reading lots of content on.. I know LCD is pretty bad for the eyes.. whilst E-ink is as good as paper is.. almost anyway.

Or is it the case that all backlit screens suck for reading lots on, even OLED?

Just purchase the HP slate or any other the other new Windows slates that are coming out, if you want a tablet with a full OS http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bSacJyED52g . If not, and you want it as a basic web browser, get the iPad

Engadget runs a big article before Apple announces their financials.

MS reports $6.66 Billion in profits ($5 Billion more than Apple, BTW). Wonder how long it will take Engadget to say anything about it. If history shows anything, they will ignore it - unless MS does poorly, then they Engadget will gloat and proudly have an article.

I'm most upset about the planned obsolescence of the device. Could Apple ad the features we want? Of course they could. They're not stupid, and they have tremendous resources. But they want to reserve features for version 2 and 3 and 4...

Just like the first iPhone didn't have 3G, because what would the killer feature have been on the iPhone 3G? You think they didn't plan that far ahead?

I just wish Jobs wouldn't claim that they "built the best device they knew how." Because they obviously didn't.

@DigitalSl Adobe is not dying. the flash player is a small part of Afobe. Your forgetting about all it's other programs such as Photoshop, fireworks, dreamweaver, in design, reader, etc. Be realistic. and even with HTML 5 flask isn't going anywhere. You may see less Flash Video but Flash is much more then just a video playback my friend.
