Nexus One experiencing nationwide data outage? (update: it's back!)
Well, Happy Friday to you, too! We've been inundated with tips from perturbed Nexus One users across the country (and even in Puerto Rico) suggesting that their T-Mobile data coverage is completely out of commission. As you can see above, our own Josh Topolsky is seeing the error in Brooklyn, NY. Some users have reported that their SIM card pulls down data when swapped out of the Nexus One and into another handset, and both T-Mobile and HTC tech support centers have purportedly been slammed. At the moment, no one really seems to know what the issue is, but we have seen some reports from owners that their data is coming down just fine. So, what say you? Let us know what's going on with your Nexus One in the poll below.
[Thanks to everyone who sent this in]
Update: As of 12:54PM ET, it seems that data is back in action for Nexus One users. You should probably try rebooting your phone if it's not.

| Yep! All's well here! | |

| Data has been in and out -- kinda wonky, if you ask me. | |
| Data has been down all morning. My life is falling apart. | |
| What?! Blade Runner is out of print?! |

@Josh Topolsky# Does THE Mr. Josh Topolsky live in Brooklyn, NY? If he does, I would sure like to meet the founder of this incredible website. I just registered to ask that specific question...seriously.
Good day, I'm in love with my Nexus One - superphone ( just updated yesterday -OTA- its so much better now about the 3G signal & more faster charging time ) - we still have the 2g iphone & 3gs but were using it as MP3 player in our cars - 09 RIDGELINE & 09 PILOT -
I called my friend who's working on HTC in Houston - (he's senior engineer-the best guy to ask about software & phones) ( USA-HTC repair center is in Houston,Texas ) he divulge something to me. We moved from California for GOOD - he worked with APPLE before & myself with Honda R&D and now we are in Texas ( hes in Houston, I'm in the best city in the USA - AUSTIN,TEXAS).
Here's the big scoop guys, GOOGLE wants some share on HTC board & they will invest in the company for more products to be made by HTC for them, like the ultra advance tablet & more advance phones that is way better than the so called OLD TECHNOLOGY iPAD& iPHONE, who are just good in aesthetic appearance with APPLE logo on it ( i'll bet all my money that whatever piece of crap they will make, people will buy it because of the name APPLE )
BUT if it is EMACHINES that even can do anything & will make your life easy and happy, still people will not buy it because its EMACHINE, people did you get it??? WAKE UP!!! Thats all for now... Take care buddies & gurlies...
God bless y'all

Cool story bro.
would read agin
@jaffreywali Macbooks dominating premium windows notebooks? Don't think that has ever happened. I don't know where you get your information from, but since apple has about 7-10% worldwide market share, well... do I even need to say it?
@airmikee
Who you callin numb nuts!
:)
Waiting for the Nexus 1 on Verizon. Who needs and iPaid, I mean iPad on Verizon anyways.
I had issues yesterday for 5 seconds. But today I lost connection, I called Customers support they asked me to restart my phone and everything it's fine now. (Sent from my awesome Nexus one)
I had no data coverage all morning. Seems to be working fine now. Actually, seems to be working a little bit better. I think I'm getting 3G in places I didn't before, and better reception. That's likely just in my head, though.
My guess is what happened is that T-Mobile "upgraded" their system to add an IMEI lock preventing people from using the old $5.99 T-Zones or $10 unlimited data plans with the Nexus One. Somehow they screwed up and wound up locking out those of us with proper smartphone data plans. That would explain why only Nexus One users were affected, and why it was only on T-Mobile. I had the issue in NJ today but it's resolved now.
@FrankJ Nexus one is as decent as the iPad will be without a camera. Wait for the second generation, people!

this will make us all a little happier.
Stop the excuses! I'll bet it's from the spike in 3G usage from all Tmobile's new costomers. New that's not a big number, what was sold 20,000 or so, and some of those peeps are using it on At&t unlocked! There not built to handle a large data hike most likely. I'll wait till it drops on Vzw in a couple of months. No way takin a chance on the number 4th carrier...
