Teased Olympus Micro Four Thirds camera leaked?
One of the more exciting camera technologies to emerge in the last 18 months is undoubtedly the Olympus and Panasonic Micro Four Thirds format. Amazing little cameras that pack DSLR-quality sensors into relatively compact shooters by ditching the mirror box. So bear with us as we ogle the latest Olympus leak said to be that Micro Four Thirds shooter teased only last week. The image shows a 14-42mm lens with rumors saying it'll be cheaper (hooray!) than the E-P1 in part due to a plastic body (eww).

@fucc74
Why don't you throw in some ipad-news as well - just to make the off topicness complete?
@Ryback
I'm looking forward to once again carrying a simple '(i)Pad' and 'Pen'...
Couldn't resist...
If it is an E-p2 with plastic body at ep1 price then I am all for it .... Let the game begin
@Sunil I'd hope it would be cheaper if it's gone plastic, unless the move to plastic was to fund more features at the same pricepoint that is
@Sunil plastic? I'd pay an extra 10% + for a solid metal body. It's a whole different feeling holding it. One of the reasons (besides the classic while look) for getting the EP1.
@Sunil --- adding to my comment above - really looking forward for METAL lenses as well... and I don't think it's just me. Many users would pay for a quality timeless, retro, classy product.
@Sunil There isn't much difference between the EP1 & EP2... You get EVF, a couple of art filters and black body... Thats it... I got the GF1 first because I wanted the flash for those times when grainy high iso just isn't enough...
The EP2 came out and I was able to snag an EP1 body for just under 400 bucks...I'm pretty sure this will have the same sensor/processing as an EP1/EP2, but will be priced accordingly to the P&S crowd who want a flash.
But what will it be called? A PEN camera with IS 3rd edition? Pen+IS^3 ?
What they need is better auto focus. I can't focus crap with my E-P1. Although I have to admit it's damn sexy!
@katsun Should have got the Panasonic ;)
I just bought the Olympus ep2 a week ago. Now theyre gonna bring out a new one?
"Amazing little cam" Got to be kidding me. They're huge and heavy! I dun see why they can't make them smaller as they've ditched the mirror box. But i guess its only a matter of time tat they make them smaller and tout it as more advanced when it actually the same, more or less...
@minimach
E-P1/2 are slightly bigger than G11, and a lott smaller than DSLRs.
This looks to by even smaller than E-P1/2, so about G11 sized. If true, and they havent crippled it too much it will toll the death of Canon G class as it is this day. Canon will need to either compete with price, or make a big sensor compact camera.
The Olympus E-P1 isn't a metal body. It's a plastic body with a metal skin (as demonstrated in a dismantling photo series on a Chinese website).
Nothing wrong with a plastic body. Polycarbonate is lighter. The AF speed will still suck.
It looks like it has pop-up flash. Which suggest the rumors of it lacking [bulky] IBIS are probably true.
The 'leaked' shot looks fake to me. The knurling on the mode dial is all wonky and the bezel around the shutter button looks rendered. There's also inconsistency around the lens mount... buy I suppose we'll wait and see. Obviously the camera will be real but I think this particular shot is fake.
