how about microsoft-less engadget ?????!???????
@kalima http://www.engadget.com/exclude/Microsoft/
:p
How about
http://www.engadget.com/exclude/engadget/
but Josh, how do you expect these people to find out about this new option when they are literally spending hours at a time inside apple threads trolling... er ah (cough) conversing.
@ummmwhat lol maybe there hopping they actually read the title. I think we should give a reward to the 16 posters that got this movement started. Maybe they should lead the good old USA back to its glory days.
updated my google reader to use the new rss
What's the URL to ONLY see Apple news? That's what we really want to know.
http://www.engadget.com/tag/apple
If I want apple posts ill go to TUAW. With yer constant apple related articles theres no point for TUAW to exist.
Anyhow thanks.
@IvanP91
TUAW is a front for the iTunes app store marketing department. have fun.
The sheer amount of BAW over this obvious joke is really stupid and petty. :/
Learn to deal with each other.
i want microsoft free engadget!!!
@kalima
I second that hahahaahaha
@kalima We know, even your flame attempts fail.
as someone that gives 2 shits about what apple does, this is highly appreciated. thank you Engadget, you really are the best.
Wow. Apple free engadget looks bad on the engadget app on my iPod touch.
@ChuckieT21 Ha Ha you made the drink I was drinking come out of my nose.
engagdet people you just don't get it, we are gadget lovers and of cause we want to be informed on products from every brand. most of us don't want to exclude a single company or device so that we have zero articles about it nor do we want do have thousand articles on one device or company.
It's funny of you to make jokes like this at our cost but I think it would be better if you just get the balance right.
@Xstream sry for the mistakes
@Xstream +1
You hit the nail on the head
@Xstream
no, i don't care about apple. i love this, you are wrong.
@Xstream
You can solve this easily. On a daily basis you use http://www.engadget.com/exclude/ipad. Once a week you use http://www.engadget.com/tag/ipad to get a look at the latest about iPad only reading those you find interesting.
@Xstream
I was going to post pretty much the same thing. Although I did try the "no iPad" link and like it a lot better. I may have to use that one for the next week or two.
http://www.engadget.com/exclude/ipad
Apple needs to kick it up a notch. Shoulda, Coulda ,Woulda....
Finally! THANK YOU ENGADGET! Hopefully now this kindergarten in the comments will have an end. This Apple bashing is really annoying. Maybe now the comments will become bearable again ...
@Annoying Poster
you're an idiot. most of the posts are haters, not fanboys. omg, no flash, Nokia this, android this, can we please talk about apple when it's mentioned by engadget?
The site is obviously Apple biased, but not as much as it used to. I loved the article that Josh had last year talking about how un-practical an iPhone was for getting a decent amount of work done.
Don't get me wrong, i love my jailbroken 3GS, if it was stock, I wouldnt have it. But right now theres just too much junk about iPad, who are only going to sell to Apple Cultists because it really is not as practical as Apple would like you to think. Once more convertible tablet PCs are released that have decent horsepower, the iPad is going to get slaughtered for a computing perspective. Don't dare buy the things for books only, the advantage it has over ebook readers is the backlight... but the battery life sucks compared to specific readers. Games? Alienware M11x.
For school or general work, the iPad just can't get it done. The whole point of a computer for school and work is faster input than writing, the downside is you still need pen and paper incase you need to draw a diagram or just draw in general. A convertible tablet netbook would fill that void that apple THOUGHT they did.
@JoeyDee
PS, where the hell are the new MacBook Pro's? Is Apple going to release them by the time theres newer Intel chips?
@JoeyDee obviously someone did watch the keynote presentation...the iPad is in noway a product made to dip into the notebook market as the KEYNOTE clearly stated
before you take stabs at products and a site...educate yourself
though i love apple as well as other tech companies, this site is becoming a little biased and not giving other gadgetry the limelight it deserves
Thanks Engadget for this,
http://www.engadget.com/exclude/ipad
You can add any tag after the exclude to remove anything you want. I love trolling and quibbling against apple fanbois on Apple posts, but the iPad coverage has gotten WAAAAAAAAAY out of hand.
Hmmmm I don't mind hearing about Apple announcements and actual news, is there a way of simply filtering out the rumours, comparisons, opinions and polls?
http://www.engadget.com/exclude/puppies/ works!
@bill cant fart
You MONSTER!! =O
@SilverSurfer Maybe he's a cat person. Or a cat.
Can those of us who WANT to hear news about Apple, the most consistently innovative and fascinating company on the planet, subscribe to a format that includes Apple news and blocks all the ridiculous Apple haters who feel they have to chime in on every story with their irrelevant nonsense?
@MrSmartyPants Tell me how the crappy ass Ipad is innovated at all and not a big ass Ipod touch.
@MrSmartyPants Actually, it's easy to read articles about Apple without reading comments from "Apple haters." Just don't scroll down past the article or read it through RSS.
Everything sucks, really. Some things just suck more than others.
@burnhamish
I think Confucius said this.
sweet
@(Unverified)
Hmm, after using the Apple-free Engadget for 2 minutes i must say it's just not the same. Half of the Engadget Experience for me is trolling Apple fanboys and without that aspect it's just no fun.
So freaking classic. the reality is that if other tech companies produced more compelling products they too would get more attention on ALL the tech blogs. Gimme more iPad news!!! Even the haters can't stop bashing it, so either way you're going to hear about this device for the entire year — everybody always wants to take down whomever or whatever is on top and Apple is THE most innovative computer company.
@avalek If this where true Sow Leopard would would be top in the os market.
@danhawk911 Yes, because everyone who owns a computer can simply replace it on a whim!
I don't hate Apple as much as I hate the editors fawning all over it. Everything is compared to the iPhone, iPods are talked about as the standard for mp3 players, and every other story is speculation over Apple rumors... okay, that last one isn't true, but the first two are. It just makes Engadget seem like less of a gadget site, and more of an "Apple and those other guys" site.
@HardToBelieve So you bitch about it instead of finding another site that suits your personal taste better?
@aelder
I have tried to find other sites, but most of them I don't like. I like Engadget. And I have never, to my knowledge, complained about this. I'm giving my feedback. That's what the comments are for if you haven't noticed.
@HardToBelieve:
I agree with you, just that, I feel that's what people want to know.
How does it stack to the most-selling MP3 player and phone (at least I think it is? Didn't it beat RAZR in the US?)
Although I understand the sentiment.
@Kirtay
Actually the BlackBerry line is the best selling line of phones, I think. I'm not sure though.
