Mattel rolls out foldable Stealth Rides R/C cars

We haven't seen too many notable R/C cars since Takara Tomy's wall-climbing AeroSpider RC turned our world upside down way back in late 2008, but it looks like Mattel thinks it might just have the next big thing with its new foldable Stealth Rides cars. Like a Transformer that turn into a box, these promise to spring into life at the push of a button, and should give you about 30 hours of playtime on a single charge. Naturally, Mattel also seems to have a number of licensing deals lined up, with a Batmobile Tumbler being one of the five models that will debut at next month's Toy Fair in New York. You'll have to wait until August to actually get your hands on them, however, when they'll run you $25 apiece.

Is that the rechargeable battery in the car or controller?

Although, if that battery CAN hold a charge for 30 hours, maybe they could license it to Apple for something. :P

Yeah, definitely 30 minutes! 30 hours would be pretty cool though..

I love these kinds of toys. I just wish it was less than$20, I've been pining to buy those little RC hovercraft and helicopters every time I go by ToysRus, but the $20 mental barrier is just too much.

Use the ampersand sign followed by the letters lt followed by semicolon to get less than, and the same with gt to get the greater than sign.

Also, try this: put $5 aside some day, then weeks later add it to your $20 as a surprise to yourself.

Hmmm.....As an RC expert and racer( http://www.fastharry.com), I might have to give these toys a going over...
I think my cat will want one of these come august.
They forgot to mention that these are credit card sized.
