I love Colbert but this makes me not want an iPad, even moe.

Couldn't agree more. Everyone is judging this device without actually using one in real life. Kinda sad the way most people judge something they know absolutely nothing about.

But I want my Avatar themed unobtanium Windows 7 tablet right now...
The funniest thing is when they get their hands on a tablet with Windows 7 on it with 2 hours of battery life and a craptastic interface...
They'll be going cheap on eBay in about a year...
I wish he would have pulled it from his pants (it is an ipad).

This is my first post on Engadget -
First of all, kudos to Engadget for having the easiest "register" functionality for any website ever...
Second, no matter how much I was expecting more out of the iPad, I know developers will probably make up for it and I'll have to buy one...
Third, how do you fit that in a pocket...?

Like how you carry your laptop? I carry mine in a bag. Some keep theirs in their briefcases. Starbucks could introduce these iPads and secure them to each table for customers to browse the web and do stuff on, even just as a novelty. Should ease up on that traffic into Apple stores.

Did you get a gander at the constantly rotating screen? It was driving me NUTS! As it does on my iPhone, I HATE, HATE, HATE the accelerometer.
Still have 2 months before it comes out....people will forget what it was by then. "What was that thing Colbert had I forget... ahh well."
Nice product placement and good way to get a lot of people to see one in action. Colbert did apple good on that plug!

Sorry, I want to l like the iPad. I really do. But I just can't think of any reason to own one. Though I will admit that the UI is very slick on the iPad.
But I remember my iPhone days. And limits that are put on the use just turns me off.
this is actually the real thing, thats whats cool about it, didn't anyone notice the rotation from landscape to portrait, then he pressed the home button to go back to the home screen..

You know, potato makes me puke. I just don't look at potato.
I've figured out that yelling at potato, telling it that it makes me puke, and trying to find potato whenever I can and wherever I can so that I can whine to every stranger about my condition, didn't really help.
