Deanmark's AirMouse looks more like a ragged glove, less like an input peripheral
Controller-type devices baked into wearables have been around since the late 17th century (though we can't seem to recall one in particular that was made before Nintendo's Power Glove), but frankly, we haven't seen a whole lot of innovation in this department over the past few years. Deanmark's AirMouse is hoping to change all of that, but if we didn't know any better, we'd say Microsoft kind of called this concept first. Anywho, the strap-on mouse -- which doesn't seem to boast any sort of price or release date -- attaches on one's wrist and fingers in order to place sensors on areas where you'd normally mouse. Naturally, the company claims that this approach helps fend of repetitive stress injuries and also enables a new level of multitasking, but until doctors start gluing these things to our hands at birth, we get the feeling that most folks will simply stick to what they know when it comes to cursor pushing.

Strap on mouse..hehe
Merry February 1st everyone!
@Needsahaircut yeah i was waiting for the 1st of February to celebrate... nothing.
@Needsahaircut
*hands Needahaircut's mind a rope*
How'd you get so far down in the gutter?
@Needsahaircut

Deanmark's AirThong
@Needsahaircut No coming soon:
Denmark sues Deanmark for trademark infringement!
@Needsahaircut
Well, at least its not a strap on rabbit.
Depending on price, this thing could be either a worthy replacement or a gimmicky toy.
@3rdman
depending on its power, this thing may or may not help me pleasure your mother.
Typing with this thing on must be loads of fun
@nak Thats hilarious- so true =) Didn't think of that one-
Though I guess it would have some function to deactivate the mouse clicks when someone's actually trying to type.
I think they forgot that people like to type using their hands. Oops!
@Lando Calrissian
Like seriously...good idea in one way but not looking forward to arching my fingers even more with this attached...
@Lando Calrissian
It will take you to a whole new level of cheating when you play Sabaac, Calrissian!
@Lando Calrissian Maybe that's their next product: the fingertip cover.
This is old. Buy OMR software from http://www.omrhome.com
it looks weird...
I really like the concept, but I think the implementation could use a little work. While it seems they expect people to all type with the tips of their fingers, typing with the pads is in the nature of some people, and I'd imagine the percentage of those that do raises with the smaller hand sizes. This design flaw could be potentially circumvented by adding a loop around the ring finger, and just have the clicks occur by touching two fingers together. All in all though, I think I'd just rather have a stylus and drawing tablet for a mouse anyways. I love using my tablet outside of drawing applications, as I find the feel that I have like when I'm writing is very comfortable for me, and still doesn't put such pressure on my wrists.
Does it come with a vibration feature?
looks like a sex toy
@travisonfire - needs another sensation input on the pinkie.
@Ducman69 Especially for the *shocker*
Consider, the majority of people that would buy this more than likely type with the tips of their fingers and not their pads. In addition, I would bet that the buttons on the fingers are rather stiff compared to the average keys keyboard. It may take some serious key pounding to activate one of the buttons.
I wonder how that would work when your... uhh.... erm nvm
@CJisohsocool
how about just to get to that si.... i mean what
it means that we can no longer use mouse when we use laptops.

I like my mice to be wide.

This was featured on Dragon's Den here in Canada (The show that Shark Tank on ABC in the US is based on.)

@Lando Calrissian
and yes you can still type with your hands with this device.
WTF??
Isn't that just the primitive ancestor of 7's way cooler version?

@retread
come on now, we all know it's a Goa'uld hara'kesh.
@pomokey Thank you! I was just about to say Gizmodo's headline from last week comparing it to that Goa'uld weapon was soooo much better than Engadget's. Especially with that creepy chick in the press photo on Giz, if they'd just photoshopped her eyes white and then added some luminence around them...
I'm interested and watching. I would rock that as a gaming mouse. however i do have a list of no go.
When i saw this i just have to show you my DIY mouse glove.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=veKDkaqOBMA
it's not the best video but i think you will se the basics.
The best thing is that everyone can build one for like 20$ if you have to buy a wii remote the glove cost just 4$ or something.
//Reconnnn
Hmmmm, that could find it's way inside something....
I think we should give all our poor tired soon to be carpal tunnel hands a rest and work on that psychic stuff! You know what I'm talking about! Cause Neo, Kadabra & Alakazam know what I'm talking about! And all three of them have bent spoons!
Pft.
@retread. I was thinking the same thing about the mouse. It looks like something out of Star Trek. Seriously, this thing is will be on my want list.
Wait...
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/f/f7/Goauldhanddevice.png
Hmmm...
If it cost like $10, I'll give it a try.
You know it might be more advanced to use some wristband to detect electrical impulses or resistance instead of strapping buttons to your hand so you can't use your hand for typing anymore.
Do we really have to start from point 0 and reinvent everything over 50 product generations?
@Wwhat what kind of freak of nature types with the meat of their finger?
Just like I told your sister, its ok, its just the tip.
@Ducman69
Go ahead, try to type with that strapped on.
And I didn't know I had a sister, so that's interesting news.
OMG looks like a Thong for your wrist!
I wonder what Gyration is going to say about the name:
http://www.gyration.com/index.php/us/products/in-air-micekeyboards/air-mouse.html
this would be awesome.
Are you sure it is called Deanmark's AirMouse and not Denmark or Danmark. I'm living in Danmark (in english Denmark) so you might understand my doubt of the name.
My blog: www.andreas-heiberg.com/Blog/
is the name typed right i live in Danmark (in english Denmark)
Nah... Looks more like Spidey's first prototype webslinger...
So when I show up to work, do I punch in BEFORE or AFTER I spend 15 minutes putting this on?
It's like Minority Report, only blue
