Comcast smears the XFINITY brand across all its services
Apparently worried its On Demand Online project would suffer the shame of a silly name all by its lonely, Comcast has rebranded its cable TV, internet and phone services as Xfinity TV, Xfinity Internet and Xfinity Voice. Other than the name not much is changing (@ComcastCares will still be doing its thing on Twitter), although the rollout of the new branding (starting next week, the first 11 markets include Boston, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington D.C., Chicago, Portland, Seattle, Hartford, Augusta, Chattanooga, parts of the Bay Area and San Francisco) should sync up with 50mbps or high speeds becoming available. Of course, if those slick flame colored letter started showing up on TV repair guy trucks at the same time as a truly revolutionary new DVR software package instead of the slightly spruced up version we'll be getting over the next few months, then they could call it anything they want to.

Kinda hard to say... And I wonder what the Infinity Broadcasting folks think.
@TheHoldSteady they won't care. they're now CBS Radio.
Comcast changing their name, like putting lipstick on a pig :)
It's gonna take more than a slick new logo to erase the memory of crappy service from my mind.
@citykids I think they're more like launching a service brand, like Cablevision/Optimum.
This is such a silly name.
Give me infinity bandwidth and I'll cheer the name. 250GB is not enough.
Ways to cover a tarnished brand name for $200, Alex
I've never had a problem with Comcast.... you guys must have bad luck.
Although they really need to update their guide GUI.... its not 2000 anymore...
@TeqPho Nothing to do with luck unfortunately, I was with Comcast for only 1 year and I can say without a doubt, Comcast has the worst customer service, DVRs, extra BS fees, billing system/dept and techs/installers. Along with number of HD channels available.
I can't comment on phone or internet, I only had TV service with them. I can't see myself ever going back to Comcast. U-verse internet w/ Directv FTW, IMO
there's not a lot of added value to make me get both their broadband and cable in order to run this. other than a few extra channels i don't happen to watch (travel channel, e!, etc.), it's no better than hulu. in fact, a lot of their programs are just streaming directly from hulu. it's still the same 3-5 recent episodes you'd find there, or on on-demand.
This is so unfair, they change the name, don't give any added value, and tack $50 onto the latest bill. I would quit but they have a monopoly in my town, there are literally no other providers.
